Two points.

The only thing preventing this would be for Saddam or Saddamites now in charge deciding not to so order.... and from pictures of executed prisoners, do we really think there is anything Saddam would not do?

If Iraq is going to use chem, this will be the time to do so, as US troops are massed and still somewhat away from Baghdad.

however, in defeat, they might use them on the civilians and then blame the US.

I wonder if this would constitute a "smoking gun." Or would further inquiries be required?

The "smoking gun" standard demanded by the French, Germans, and Russians seems to be DEAD AMERICANS. I guess they want to see if their weapons work for the intended purpose.

They aren't going to tell us what those landmarks are....that would make the coalition job too easy...

re: MOAB

Actually, Arclight type of bombing from B-52s is better. 2 Klicks by 5 klicks: 324 500/750 pound bombs.

Just heard there is a map with a red circle around Baghdad.

We should also draw a map of Baghdad by crossing that red circle with a diagonal line.....

The Friday before the war, Fox carried footage of an officer telling his troops that if the enemy uses chem/bio, 'we'll head for the bunker's and ride it out, then we'll emerge and smite this guy with a force he's never seen before.'

I love it when senior officers give orders to 'smite' things. :)
