Thank you for the link, Kim.

Dear God, we ask that you will hold the 507th Maintenance, part of the 111th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, which is stationed at Fort Bliss completely in your hands. Bless the families of these ones who were captured and/or killed. Bless and comfort this entire community who are feeling the blow of this in their visceral parts. Father, we ask that you will intercede and preserve from this kind of harm any more of our troops according to thy will.
Amen

Any NC praying Freepers see a spot on Channel 14 news out of Charlotte called "Fayetteville Churches Pray" on Sunday evening or this morning?

We have a dear friend who is about to lead a dangerous mission. His plan was to read the following text (27th Psalm) to his men, as part of the "pre-action" pep talk:

The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?
When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.
Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In {spite of} this I shall be confident.
One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple.
For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.
And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice, And be gracious to me and answer me.
{When You said,} "Seek My face," my heart said to You, "Your face, O LORD, I shall seek."
Do not hide Your face from me, Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation!
For my father and my mother have forsaken me, But the LORD will take me up.
Teach me Your way, O LORD, And lead me in a level path Because of my foes.
Do not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence.
{I would have despaired} unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD.

Thank you for this report out of North Carolina about your friend using the 27th Psalm as part of the pep talk before a dangerous mission. God bless this fine young man, and God bless the men he leads. God keep and preserve them all.

Open letter to all our precious Marines.

Dear Marine,

You have placed your time and your life on the line to the service of this nation. I am certain this is not a thing you entered into lightly. We live in perilous times, and you have stepped up to the plate, and said, "I'll go. Send me."

God bless you for your service and your love of this nation. Thank you for your love of duty and honor. My daddy (who fought as a Marine in the Pacific during WWII) would sing the Hymn for me. I never understood as a child what that meant, "and to keep our Honor clean." What in the world IS that? What is Honor that it should be clean???

As I child, I visualized there was some kind of regalia on the uniform that had to be laundered just so. Then, over the years, I learned that it meant that self comes after the commitment a Marine has made to his buddies, and the reputation of the Corps itself. It meant that a Marine will do the right thing. It meant that a Marine will sacrifice his treasure, his reputation, even his very life, to do that right thing, so that this nation can stand free under our flag and the sacred contract of the US Constitution.

Marine, you are very very precious to me. I am grateful for your commitment to "keep your Honor clean," for it means that we in this nation can sleep well at night. It means our Marines are on duty and we can TRUST them.

May God bless you and keep you safe. May he bring you home to your family and friends in the fullness of time. May you sing the Hymn to your children and explain to them what it means to sing, "and to keep our Honor clean."

Sincerely,
Tex

While this is for a marine, the sentiments hold true for each of the services. All of our troops are precious, and are doing important and dangerous things.

God

Give deliverance and salvation to those who have sacrificed their lives.

Comfort the families of those who have fallen in battle. Bring peace to their minds, hearts and souls.

Bestow courage and strength on our troops as they confront evil in captivity and on the field of battle. Protect and shield them from harm as they engage the enemy.

Guide our President and our military leaders with your wisdom.

Bring freedom and liberty to the Iraqi people.

Amen
