Jonathan Alter is Newsweek and MSNBC. Eric Alterman is even more putrid and less photogenic.

He also said Free Republic was repsonsible for the flood of Republican activists who descended on the state and therefore was responsible for the Bush presidency.

God Bless Free Republic and FReepers! :-)

Even though pig-face Beckell was all over the media claiming he'd turn or intimidate enough electors to swing the outcome, Shrum claimed it was all his idea.

The Democrat party is home to so many truly evil humans it's difficult to declare who's the lowest.

So, Alterman plugged his book by referencing Free Republic? And as an example of the godless subversion that goes on here he mentioned getting people to Florida to protest and posting phone numbers? And... "whatever?"

Sounds grave indeed.

What's he going to do next, accuse us of subverting democracy by using bad grammar?

Really. Such insufferable nitwittery astounds the brain.

Someone who truly understands where FReeping fits in the scheme of things. LOL!

I totally agree with you regarding the left's interpretation of democracy in action. When the right speaks out it is a bunch of activists but when the left speaks out it is law abiding citizens with great concerns. Bah wa wa.

Well, I suppose now they will be whining about a liberal answer to both Rush AND Free Republic.

Well, that part is accurate anyway..

Over the years, no one has been bashed better by us, or deserved it more, than the incredibly ugly, ill tempered, and thoroughly distasteful, Eric "I've never flossed" Alterman. I'm glad he got equal time.

Patently pathetic, never going to be ready for primetime, Alterman would mention FreeRepublic, only to fire up lefty loons, still lusting for Florida, those poor deluded souls who might be inclined to buy his book.

Hey Deb, thanks for the thread! I like keeping up with the third tier thinkers on the left, like Alterman, and it's always good to read you.

I feel sorry for Eric Alterman. He used to be an occasional Clinton apologist on the nightly talk shows. Now no one wants him and his book isn't doing so well if the person who posted its Amazon status is correct.

The Bush election has pulled the rug out from under this guy; shaken his entire world view. He thought we conservatives were a minority and to his horror he discovered the likes of Free Republic. Poor, poor man.

Alterman admitted he has no ability to report the facts when he said he could not figure out if Dan Rather was a liberal, conservative or moderate.

Hey Eric, in case there's a retest, I'll spot you one of the answers, Dan Rather is NOT a conservative. There now, you have a 50-50 chance of getting it correct.

Eric Alterman is journalism's version of "social promotion".

Well at least he said one good thing about us. Thanks Eric for the aknowledgement.

Other liberal columnists have given credt to FR for Gore's decision to drop out of the 2004 race.

I remember that particular FReep. It forced the leftist operators, who were intending to carry on in secret, to open up the "recount" process. Immediately, all media started focusing on those actually doing the ballot examinations. GREAT WORK....

You're very welcome! I often include your PBC summary when responding to the "Gore won" sore losers. Thanks! It looks as if we'll be needing it until the end of the world. (^;

On any weekday morning (9:00 to 11:00 Central time) call Eileen Byrne at WLS-AM (890 kHz), telephone (312) 591-8900 and ask her what she thinks of Eric Alterman. She's the co-host of the mid morning talk show and had a very colorful interview with EA a few weeks ago. Link to WLS-AM here.

The source of his tirade seemed to be his book which might be worth checking out.
