French Foreign Minister Spinning for Baghdad-FReep the Frogs!
2/14/03

Posted on 02/14/2003 8:40:36 AM PST by Thane_Banquo

The French Foreign Minister Dominique De Villepin is reading Saddam a Valentine's Day love letter in the Security Council. He is shamelessly defending Saddam and echoing the rants of leftists against America's self-defense.

Let's FReep the French Embassy to the United States.

The address and phone number are:

Ambassador Jean-David Levitte

4101 Reservoir Road, NW
Washington, DC 20007

Telephone
(202) 944-6000

Fax
(202) 944-6166

Ha! He just said France has always stood upright in the world! He completely ignores Vichy and French complicity in the Holocaust.

Notice the snickers when he mentioned how "old" France is, and turned it around as if that also implied wisdom. And then the applause from the peanut gallery. I hope Powell sticks it to them, good and hard.

Yes, I noticed he made that sarcastic crack about "old" twice. Both he and Blix went out of their way to publicly heap doubt and contempt on the US Secretary of State. And that was sandwiched around an obscene and barf-inducing rant by the Syrian stooge who once again blamed everything on Israel and the Jews.

I have to tell you all, I live only a few miles across town from UN headquarters, but I can smell the stench from here.

This is quickly turning into a BASH-America Fest complete with cheering from the Peanut Gallery. I can just imagine President Bush watching this on TV and seething with rage.

I am joining him in that feeling of contempt.

Just called the French embassy and told the woman I considered the statement by the French ambassador to be a shameful cowardly act. And immoral as well.

Nazi's? Rwanda? How about the 21st century, why isn't the press reporting on current French BOMBING in the Ivory Coast to prevent their old colony, of their historically devilish Empire where they stripped these people of all their worthwhile goods, from being autonomous?

That's the only thing that gets the liberals attention when you tell them that there really weren't that many folks in the French Resistance and that they all claimed to be in it afterward..and that France without instruction of the Nazis rounded up the Jews to send to their deaths.

I just sent them this message:

I would like to apologize on the behalf of my country, the United States of America.

I would like to apologize to France for helping you defeat the Germans in World War I, since it is clear from your ingratitude today that you do not appreciate our actions.

I would like to apologize to you for liberating your country from the Nazis, since we did not ask your permission beforehand. Indeed, history tells us many members of your country were very happy to aid the Germans in ridding Europe of the Jews, and indeed your government's anti-Israeli bias and thefrequent vandalism of synagogues in your country tells us that there are still large deposits of anti-Semitism in France to this day. In many ways, Vichy lives.

I would further like to apologize for defending your country against the Soviet Union. It seems from your actions in the Security Council today that you do not appreciate America's assistance. Perhaps you would have been happy to trade bordeaux for vodka and democracy for Stalinism.

I would also like to apologize for our attempts to clean up the mess you left the world in Vietnam. Thousands of good American men died in Vietnam trying to fix a problem you abandoned and left for us.

We have defended France every time it has been threatened, every time it has been invaded or over-run. We have never turned you down. We have never said that the price of American blood is too great to defend our friend, the Republic of France.

And now, when we are threatened by Radical Islamist terrorism, you attempt to appease the enemies of liberty and democracy. When America is threatened by a regime both with ties to terrorism and the ability and willingness to give weapons of mass destruction to terrorists, you abandon us. You have decided to side with your narrow economic interests instead of coming to the aid of a lifelong ally.

But what is it to you? It was not your towers that fell on September 11. Most of those killed were Americans or Britons. You have not been attacked on your soil by radical Islamic terrorists. So what does it matter if your friend, the sole reason you still exist as an independent country, now needs your help?

It has been said that "love has no greater man that this, that he lay down his life for his friends." The corollary is that contempt has no lesser man than this, that he betrays his friends at the moment they most need him.

...there really weren't that many folks in the French Resistance...

That depends on which resistance movement you're talking about. Resistance to the Nazi occupation, or resistance to the Allied liberation?
