If Congress passes a comprehensive federal handgun registration, would you support it?

No.

I'm not a Libertarian. I don't equate the right to keep and bear arms with the "right" to smoke crack.

Give me a ping if you ever manage to figure out what your "severable" issue supposedly is.
USC 21 Subchapter I, Part F, Section 901
Part F -- General Provisions
Section 901. Severability of Provisions
If a provision of this chapter is held invalid, all valid provisions that are severable shall remain in effect. If a provision of this chapter is held invalid in one or more of its applications, the provision shall remain in effect in all its valid applications that are severable.
(Pub.L. 91-513, Title II, Section 706, Oct. 27, 1970, 84 Stat. 1284.)

PING!

Why would you not support a law Congress passes if the courts have not overruled it or has stayed silent on it?

Is there something special about Roscoe that gets to pick and choose which laws he will support?

Why would you not support a law

Your hypothetical law that treats the right to keep and bear arms like the "right" to smoke crack?

I'm not a Libertarian.

Just remember that there are lot's of people who won't tolerate a law such as this. But, for reasons I think anyone can understand, they want to stay under the radar and off "lists" until the time comes.

That may be cowardly in some books, but it also pragmatic and practical.

The flaccidness of your commitment to freedom is showing.

I think you should definitely seek medical attention. Your short term memory loss is getting pretty obvious, when you keep talking about smoking crack on this thread about RKBA. (Which means, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.) (Arms as in firearms.)

Now, what was that about which laws you will abide by, and which you will not? Will you plead memory loss if you are charged with violations of law?

The courts haven't overruled a hypothetical law? Do you have any of the hypothetical decisions?

Ah, I see yet another thread has devolved into Roscoe defending the Leviathan State against all comers.

smoking crack on this thread about RKBA

That was the point of philman_36's post #3 that pinged me here.

Being a smart ass isn't helping you out.

If this or a more comprehensive law is passed, it is no longer hypothetical.

And until the courts overrule it, it stands.

You have stated that you wouldn't support that law, but that makes you seem inconsistent. It seems that your argument is that a law is valid and consitutional until it is repealed or overruled.

If you won't support a comprehensive federal gun registration law, please tell me why not.

It's cowardly and lazy. The person who can't use a ballot box is not going to use the ammo box.

Please quote the hypothetical court decisions and the hypothetical reasoning they hypothetically give.

You are of course completely mistaken as his post #3 doesn't mention smoking crack at all. Your mind is slipping away rapidly ... see a neurologist at once!

Is this the best you can do to try to worm out of the situation?

If Congress passes a comprehensive gun registraion law, why wouldn't you feel compelled to support it?

I like to quote actual laws, actual courts and actual decisions.

You guys like to make ignorant unsupported assertions. Imaginary laws, imaginary courts and imaginary decisions are ideal vehicles for your kind of "discussion."

Nope, he was dragging an existing debate over from a drug thread.
