It might have been Middle Eastern immigrants smashing up the INS building in these protests.
Radical-types must be getting DUMBER as the years go by.
Back when I was a righteous young leftist (ca. 1980), it was common understanding amongst our "cadres" that ANYONE preparing for, or advocating, violence or destruction, was probbaly either 1) a dangerous nutcase; or 2) a police provocateur; and was to be kept out of organizing activities at all costs.
These "people" are thugs and criminals and deserve to be treated as such. Demonstrating is free speech, destroying property is a crime.
Why is this crap allowed??? Damn this pisses me off!!!!!

The problem is that the whole purpose of Black Bloc (anarchist) demonstrators is violence. And any and all demonstrations now simply provide a theatre of action for the Black Bloc folks, even though the intention of the initial organizers of the demonstration may have been non-violent.
Pictures of the SF demonstration show the usual black-masked thugs, some of them carrying flags with the A within a circle that is the symbol of the anarchists.

Seriously, I actually like counterculture types, so long as they stay the hell out of politics!
