Carlos Marentes, Director of the Border Agricultural Workers Project, shows us the new fence along the canal that separates Mexico from the US. Thousands of families and communities were torn overnight with this type of partition.

A camera and listening post along the border. El Paso was the first border town to have a military post established.

Carlos translates Bertha Sanchez's remarks: At least one third of the labor force here is comprised of women. She used to work in the once thriving garment industry which has disappeared. Women are paid less than the men and are often ridiculed and harassed by the contractors and some fellow workers.

What a pity you're on the wrong side of it, Carlos.

Mr. Jackson declared during an impromptu news conference, dismissing Mr. Bush's war talk as "bellicose rhetoric that gives big headlines."

Can you appreciate the irony inherent in this statement? HA!

He oughta know about getting big headlines!

I'd like to know if this Dallas newspaper printed side-by-side an equally-lengthy and equally-detailed article about the anti-protest protest. Did they print any quotes from freedom lovers at they rally? Did they search out, interview and photograph the aged and decrepit, the student and the housewife from the patriots that were there?

Never mind, I know the answer to my questions.

I LOVE LOS ANGELES. I was lucky to get to live there three times. I met a bunch of WONDERFUL FREEPERS when I lived there all last year. RonDog, TonyInHawaii, Jessamine, Outraged, etc. DougFromUpland and DaleReed are from greater LA area. We don't want to lose all of LA. I was in Claremont, east of LA, in Los Angeles county this time when I lived in Ca and it is a VERY conservative town. We don't want to waste all of LA. Most of the creeps are in SF, Monterrey, Hollywood, Bev. Hills, etc.

[But,] It makes me feel like I'm doing something.

And that, my friends, is what it's all about.

These feel-good, lame-brained, bleeding heart types drive me nuts! They refuse to consider the possibility that Sadamn might just have weapons of mass destruction, that he might just use them against us, Israel or Britain, and that he might just be supporting global terror. Oh well. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

"it's all about 'oil and control of the world'"

So what if it is? Better we than the Islamofascists control the world!

(Of course the "Liberal" taliban doesn't agree. Their meritricious sociopathic leaders intend to gain control of the Islamofascists, and the fools who follow them don't understand anything, can't think for themselves, and merely parrot what their leaders tell them.

A fool is more dangerous than a scoundrel.

Had it not been for the fools who allowed Hitler to come to power, World War II and the Nazi Holocaust would never have happened.)

These protests are organized by the socialistic left. Iraq is only a convienient mechanism to advance their anti-capitalistic and anti-american agenda. What is truly amazing is that so many on the right, example: the LewRockwell wing of the libertarian party, buy into this BS.

You're right. This is about the extent of the coverage of the anti-protest protest...

Washington Metropolitan police officers
stand guard as pro-war demonstrators

Just read more of the posts. Guess I need to add "Commy-dupes" to my list of epithets!

Not surprising that this protest was organized by the Communist Party USA. They have the best "rent a mob" machinery going. They don't get funding from the Soviet Union anymore, it's true. But then, when you've got backing from Hollywood . . .

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity. WB Yeats, The Second Coming

Yep. It's all about safety and security in the Region and for the U.S. And about liberating an oppressed Iraqi people from the Tyrant SADdam. And let's do it before he gets his hands on something more dangerous, destructive and powerful than chemicals and biohazards...

An investigation would reveal Saudi/Al Qaeda and probably Iraqi support...

One of the few remaining secrets of World War II known to historians but not the public was fascist funding of anti-war groups. For example, Japan provided major financial support to the Black Muslims. And Germany helped fund America First.

During the Vietnam War, the KGB and satellite (especially Cuban) agencies funded a whole host of individuals and groups.

Behind the dupes who demonstrated yesterday are some of the nastiest people on the planet.

Same this time - the "no war for oil" slogan immediately tells me that the opposition lacks any credibility whatsoever and to engage in any further debate or expect/hope for any resonable discourse is impossible.

The "no war for oil" mantra is the same as the "if it saves the life of just one child" mantra. It's a calculated way to appeal to the easily manipulated emotions of the great mass of uninformed political imbeciles in the American electorate, nothing more.
