Yep, they have the constitutional right to protest, I agree. I liked the White House's comments on that.

I have the right to disagree with the protestors!, lol. Ain't this a GREAT country?

I am a bit leery of the war idea, because I'm afraid it will create more problems than it will solve. I hope I am wrong.

It should be interesting. I decided not to underestimate President Bush. Seems he usually knows what he's doing.

Seen these articles, btw?...

Entrapment by Bush:
He plays Democrats for fools,
and they always rise to his bait

...Carlos Marentes, who runs the Farm Workers Center in El Paso, said... "in a war, we are the ones paying," he said. "There are more serious problems that this administration should be taking care of, especially the poverty that affects our communities."....

Who's 'we', Carlos? It looks to me like you've been the recipient of a lot more government largesse than you deserve.

The center was built with HUD funds provided by the City of El Paso. The Department of Community Development of the City of El Paso, as well as the Engineering Department, were instrumental in the realization of this important project.

And you've got a damned nerve, after receiving such generosity, to post a story called A History of American Ingratitude on your website.

Absolutely right on both counts.

"Some carried it on printed placards or brightly colored banners or scrawled by hand on pieces of old cardboard."

Sounds like the 'Will work for food' homeless alcoholic crowd you see at freeway onramps...

Exactly, kassie. Whenever someone brings up that old "no war for oil" canard I always want to ask them if all this was over oil why aren't there American flags flying over oil fields in southwest Asia today? Why didn't we just take the Kuwait oil fields as well as Iraqi oil fields (and why stop there...the Saudi, and everyone else in the region) We had half a million troops in the region 11 years ago with a prostrate, defeated and humiliated Iraq - we could have taken any damn thing we wanted.

Same this time - the "no war for oil" slogan immediately tells me that the opposition lacks any credibility whatsoever and to engage in any further debate or expect/hope for any resonable discourse is impossible.

Wow, great catch! And thanks for the link. Yep, he get our Federal tax dollars alright...

The design of the center reflects the spirit of the struggle of the leaders of Sin Fronteras to bring dignity to the farmworker community.

SERVICES

The center provides various types of services to farmworkers and low income residents of the area, such as English classes, arts and recreation for both children and adults. The center includes a modest clinic and a cafeteria. It is open 7 days a week for "safe haven" from 4 p.m. to 6 a.m. For the general public, the center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday and Saturdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

The center was built with HUD funds provided by the City of El Paso. The Department of Community Development of the City of El Paso, as well as the Engineering Department, were instrumental in the realization of this important project. The design was created by Guillermo Barajas and Pablo Bustamante. The Texas Society of Architects granted Barajas and Bustamante and Sin Fronteras the 1995 award for Outstanding Architectural Design. The construction of the center was done by Banes General Contractors.

What a CREEP !

A History of American Ingratitude

Old farmworker.

An elder farmworker is denied Social Security benefits as a result of Welfare Reform and new changes to Immigration Laws.

I wish one of these idiots would grow a brain cell they can all share. None of these morons have an idea what to do about the situation. All they can do is mindlessly shout NO WAR. I suppose we're all just supposed to lay here and wait for the next attack(s). Good thing the adults are in charge now. Hope we can keep it that way for a while and perhaps build a 2/3 majority.

Btw, there is no draft. If you don't want to go to war just don't sign up. Thanks to past wars fought and won, you can stay here and continue to be an embarrassment.

WOrldNetDaily ran an article on Novembe 4th about the organizers of this event.

Hard to believe, but true: it's the old Communist Party USA gang (using the usual other names.)

Geez. They can't be getting money from the Soviet Union any more...

I ask the people in the street why they were so selfish to only want the freedom to walk in the streets only for themselves. You could see it click in their small brains but they only had anger because they were deceived and told they were doing good.

I guess it's the oppressive self-righteousness of some of these people that offends me the most.

These protests are not organized by pacifists. They have nothing to do with oil or Iraq or peace.

These protests are organized by the socialistic left. Iraq is only a convienient mechanism to advance their anti-capitalistic and anti-american agenda. What is truly amazing is that so many on the right, example: the LewRockwell wing of the libertarian party, buy into this BS.

The American taxpayer, my friend.

Just like they did for 95% of the other 'peace' protestors.

However, I am a bit leery of the war idea, because I'm afraid it will create more problems than it will solve. I hope I am wrong.

I'm beginning to believe it's too late for that.

IF we had a moral foreign policy to begin with, where we didn't run about the globe sticking our nose in where it didn't belong - then maybe so many nations wouldn't hate us.

But they Do hate us, and that's the reality we have to deal with.

So the question is this - do we allow nations like North Korea, Iraq, Iran, etc who hate us, and have a zealot based leadership and followers to possess weapons of mass destruction?

I'm beginning to think that No. is the answer. We may have to destroy each army, each goverment, each organization that poses a threat to us - until such time as we are so far advance that the weapons no longer pose a threat - or until all those possessing these weapons no longer have a reason to hate/want to attack us.

If we're going to lose a city, I'd sure rather it be Mecca than Omaha.

(Don't tempt me with LA as a response.... I might just give 'em that one as a freebie :) )
