And, wasn't it Rush that started all this? I don't know. I first saw it here about 6 months ago. There was a great thread going then.

"Eaton hasn't changed. They're being stubborn. They're still scrambling over the beating they took in the media last year," said Mr. Little Owl.I think Mr. Little Owl needs to grow up.

One of our pabulum-puking liberals from NJ
For schools that can't afford to change mascots, Rep. Frank Pallone Jr., New Jersey Democrat, in September introduced the Native Act to Transform Images in Various Environments. Known as the NATIVE bill, it would establish a grant program to pay for repainting stadiums, gymnasiums and other costs associated with switching mascots.
My high school is named after an Indian, I'd like to see him come to town to have it removed.
Shouldn't he be worried about his Catholic Faith, his soul and 100% Abortion Record instead of this nonsense?

"..doesn't want to know.."
She knows, but she has an image to uphold. I don't care for image upholders. The liberals I know are either trying to creat an image of caring, or have been bamboozled into thinking PC is cool.
WHATEVER!

Could we change the name of the Detroit Red Wings hockey team to the Detroit Right Wings? Build a stadium in Dearborn and call them the Detroit Dhimmis.

some T-shirt buyers missed the point and saw them as a statement of white pride. It is BS from the Washington Times. Nobody "missed the point"---rather, whites did not delve into victimhood and a cry baby mentality regarding the slogan.

Whether people are actually changing their minds or just enjoying the joke is not clear. The Whites concede that some T-shirt buyers missed the point and saw them as a statement of white pride. Likewise, when a conservative Web site, FreeRepublic.com, ran a story about the North Dakota art exhibit, it was flooded with responses from readers asking where to buy the jerseys.
"Cleveland Honkies! Where do I buy it? I think I'd pay $100 for a jersey so emblazoned. I'm completely serious," said one e-mailer.
There's nothing in the emailer's request that indicates it's white pride or humor that motivated the request. Valire and her editors blew it this time. I want one of those shirts too, for laughs and as a shot against the race baiting extortionists.

Publicity about the Fighting Whites gave a boost to those who have lobbied for years to change the name of the University of North Dakota's mascot, the Fighting Sioux. What this article didn't mention is that the effort to change the name of the Fighting Sioux has been unsuccessful. A few years ago a wealthy alumnus was preparing to make an enormous donation to the school -- something on the order of tens of millions of dollars -- to build a new research facility or something like that. When the stories about the attempt to change the name of the team mascot began to show up in the media, he made it clear to the school that his contribution would be directly tied to them retaining the name of the Fighting Sioux. If they ever decide to change the name of the school mascot, they have to pay him all that money back.
They took the money, of course. Like most school administrators, any notion of principle gets thrown out the window when it comes to money.

Money talks and the rest is all bull **it.
Just more of the PC crowd posturing to anyone who will listen.

I wonder how long he worked to come up with that stupid source for an acronym. Probably something like the "Dilbert mission statement generator". BTW, if you haven't checked that out, it's a hoot. Looks just like the bs "mission statments" much in favor by the current crop of MBAs. OT, but that crap should read: "... to sell as many t-shirts, lunch-boxes, action figures..."

I want a shirt, and I'm not being sarcastic. Call it what you will (white pride), but perhaps thier little joke is back firing, and whites really would like to support a team named after them.
