I'm sorry -- and I know I'll get hammered for this -- but if he didn't do it, why isn't he all over TV, screaming about where is my wife? And if he's not the type to do that, why not HELP the police instead of sending your mama and daddy to do the talking?
Good points. Right on the nose.
To: Howlin
Yor bet, because of the murders of the Julie Sund, her doughter and friend in the same county near Modesto.

"He has been an avid golfer and occasional fisherman."
/p
Has anyone checked OJ's whereabouts?
To: RnMomof7
So he sends his sister and mama and daddy out to answer questions about HIM? Yeah, that makes sense.

I don't fish or sail but I thought his boat was appropriate for the mountain lakes, not the Bay. I DO fish, and thought the same thing about the boat...you can use boats like that in tidal creeks here on the east coast, but I'd have thought west coast waters and the bay were rougher.

I heard the ticket had a time stamp on it. Was there no date on it, or did I hear wrong?

The excuse is weak..his sister said he does not want it to be about him..my guess is he is afraid someone will remember him from that day Yeah it is weak. Part of "helping" finding his wife is helping the police determine if his alibi is solid. It's not ... and it's taking precious time.

Yea, this sounds like a better theory than most of the media "experts" (and I use that Very loosely, after the DC sniper debacle.) have been able to think up. Oops, there is that ugly word "think"... Anybody remember a poor slob named Richard Jewel? Tried, tied and fried by our expert media pundits. All the while, the real bomber was home building another bomb to use somewhere else!
Belive none of what you hear, and half of what you see. The trick is knowing which half to look at!
Your version is also a much happier end to this story ( everybody is alive! ) than the media would like to see. Murder sells, domestic problems amongst the commoners does not.

Now maybe poor Scott IS guilty, but I hope not.
You are altering the time line. He says he set OUT for home about 4 pm, it is 75 MILES EACH WAY, a total drive of 150, not 150 miles each way.
He says he got home shortly before six, and saw immediately that his wife's car and purse were there, and the whole house just as it had been at 9:30 AM WHICH WAS RIGHT THERE GROUNDS FOR PUSHING THE PANIC BUTTON!
She was supposed to have shopped, cooked, been all ready to go over to her mother's for a big Christmas dinner! Instead, she had obviously been away virtually from the time he left, he said, AND COULD NOT TELL ALL THE DETAILS AS TO HOW HE COULD KNOW SHE HAD BEEN AWAY FOR SOME TIME!
So he just made one brief phone call to her parents, and IMMEDIATELY REPORTED HER MISSING before 6 had even arrived, and within 10 minutes of getting in the door!
I am not sure those burglars are telling the truth about when they did it, lots of media and LE in area by then... They seemed so eager to distance themselves from the Laci matter, and did not look like nice guys at ALL!

And, he also says he tried to call her on his cell as soon as he left the waterside for home, around 4pm, but no answer.

If I recall correctly, this was his first "fishing" expedition. So he just "owned" that "boat" to cover an oil stain in the driveway?
He may or may not have done it, but this is getting even sillier that the Westerfield threads, if that's possible.

Personally, I think the woman skipped town on her own...the kid was probably not his and the husband was probably going to find out. She skipped out with the real sperm donor because she knew he was going to have a DNA test completed to find out the truth. From the pictures posted, she certainly doesn't look like that type! I think the husband probably has something going on the side and didn't want to be burdened with a messy divorce and child support.

IIRC, it was a boat from his work that he used for work....correct me if I'm wrong anyone.
Still want to know what time he picked that boat up from his work.

Hummm..it's also been reported that he said he didn't take his cell phone with him out on his boat..he forgot it.
But that just may be one of the "rumors" that aren't true?

"Any one else think it strange that a man would go fishing Christmas eve and leave his 8 1/2 month pregnant alone?"
. . .sounds more than strange; sounds like a very bad relationship that took a turn for the very worst. . .

So he just made one brief phone call to her parents, and IMMEDIATELY REPORTED HER MISSING before 6 had even arrived, and within 10 minutes of getting in the door! That alone would be very strange to do ---no one reports someone missing after only 10 minutes looking for them.
