Hell, I'm an American and you folks have inspired ME . . . although some would disagree about the American part since I'm a life-long Texan, but that's another thread.

Anyway, I was thinking while reading the back and forth between y'all and parade. Is there any way we can have these give and takes between FReepers and foreigners on a scheduled and organized basis? For example . . . could it be organized where some FReepers met up with some relative German FReepers and thrashed things out back and forth?

If not, is there a website that has an "international flavor" like that where some FReepers can take their logic and reasoning skills to dispel all the misconceptions about America and Americans?

I don't know if all this was on the up and up . . . hell, parade could be from Muleshoe, Texas . . . but if he/she is from Germany he/she seemed to be learning from your explanations.

Maybe we oughtta just turn you guys loose on the world.

You are not a German. So anyway, this is why you're a socialist/communist. Your ideal type of society believes that you are born into a society and can demand things from those already there. Earning is not an option, you can demand education from the population. I don't think that way and you really shouldn't be here.

When we were bombing the shit out of Serbia, I found a fantastic friend in Bulgaria. She contacted me as an American and asked me to explain why we were doing that.

Actually, I was wondering the same thing!

Living only 25 km from the Kosovo border, she gave me an insight toward that illegal American action that will always stick in my mind.

That stupid war introduced two people together and we have become absolute best friends ever since. Today, she has graduated from law school and is now a lawyer working very hard on the development of democracy into her Bulgarian government.

This is illogical and evil. It's infantile lunacy. How is there a correlation between our capitalism and other people dying from lack of water? Simply because we've built a better state and made better choices, doesn't make us responsible for other nations' horrible plight. This is exactly what is destroying the world. It is the WEAK DEMANDING FROM THE STRONG and using their weakness as leverage. Own up to your own miserable ways and beg forgiveness from the gods of capitalism for turning your back. When I stationed in Germany in 1976, I was walking guard duty around an ammo dump at Wildflecken, armed with a shotgun and in normal LBE, wearing my helmet liner w/o the steel pot. At about 0300, as I walked my post, I was whacked in the side of the head and knocked down, losing my helmet liner in the process. Thinking the ammo dump was being attacked, I yelled for my partner to radio the Sergeant of the Guard and get the response team up there pronto. I looked around and grabbed my helmet liner, and, at that time, I saw three long gashes in the side of the helmet liner. Looking around further, I spotted a HUGE owl sitting on a nearby light pole. As near as I could figure out, something about that helmet liner spooked (or attracted the appetite) of the owl and it attacked it.

Even the owls over there are anti-American. 8')

Those countries that have adopted Capitalism have water, food, homes, etc.

Those that failed to learn the lessons of history are dying today.
