Would that be in Hildabeast's purloined FBI files?? You gotta wonder why Lott mishandled the whole impeachment trial. Granted, nothing ever was proven but when there's smoke, there's fire. Something worse may leak over the weekend and get ready to watch the other shoe drop.

collegue = colleague.
Oops.

LOL!!! When did Gutless Wonder ever stand up for us, hmmm? I'm hard pressed to think of a good reason conservatives should be willing to go down for him.
To: swheats
He, as he's proven repeatedly, is a cancer when in charge. This timing is fortuitous. Can you, God help us, imagine if he'd opened his vacous brain up 2 months ago? How about 20 months from now? This is extremely series that we get this whole Vacant Lott leadership thing straightened out now.

I think our friend Common Tator is smoking something if he thinks Olympia Snowe would join the Democrats. Snowe's American Conservative Union rating for 2001 was 60. She has a lifetime score of 51. These sort of numbers would be the kiss of death in a Maine Democratic primary.

Its not really our fault. Its that incredibly stupid moron from Ole Missis who done us in. No it is "our" fault because "we" are the most cowardly excuses for conservatives ever assembled.

"So we lose our majority again? Like that's news." Please understand that I don't intend this to be a personal attack on you, but --This is the most foolish, foolish thing I've read on FR.
This is not Sunday school...this is high stakes politics. It's a war in a sense, and opinions like this amount to nothing less than surrender.
Please reconsider your opinion; understand it means at least two more years of Daschle obstructionism and could seriously harm the 2004 reelection. (Unless, of course, losing the White House is ..like no news, either.)

Win at all costs, is that it?
To: no dems
He usually is, but this time he is essentially agreeing with the same thing you wrote. If we force Lott out now, we lose big time.

Here is my prediction. If we dump Lott we will lose the whole thing. We now see that those from the right don't stand up for anything or anyone least of all up to the rats. Here is my predicition .. Lott is toast
With that said .. it should NOT be because of these comments that he said .. he apologized for them .. If the Dems can accept Bryd's apologoy .. then they better accept Lotts
With that said .. I read an article on Roll Call were Lott is playing games again and is thinking about sharing powers AGAIN
Now if that is true .. he should go .. We all did not bust our rear ends to win back control this past election to bend over to the demand of the Rats

Senators would rather let Daschle be majority leader than stand up and take heat. That is the differnece between Democrats and Republicans. Who says our desire to eliminate Lott from the leadership has anything to do with being willing to stand up and take the heat. Are so far out gone that you can't imagine that Republicans would do something because it's the right thing to do. I bet you are one of those that bitched and bitched about the fact that Condit was still in congress and he was just a congressmen, not even in the leadership.

Well, if that's the case, all us political junkies must be so hard up for a political fix, now that the elections are over, we're conjuring up this type of lame-brain scenarios to entertain ourselves.

"If he just kept his big mouth shut at Strom Thurmond's birthday party, we wouldn't even be having this discussion."
Yeah, but he was on a roll. I mean, he's 'been there, done that' segragationist schtick before and none of this happened, right?
The difference is, the RATS stick you in the ribs with a shank when it matters most. Like when you do it as incoming Senate GOP Majority Leader. What a dumb-a**.
To: Texasforever
This is suppose to be a conservative website. This week we've seen self professed conservatives, side with the liberal establishment, in condemning, denouncing and worst of all, calling for Trent Lott to resign his Senate seat. This isn't what the last election was all about. Republicans won and took back the Senate. I don't think these people are real conservatives, just a bunch of hysterical, pompous Republican elitists. They don't care if the Democrats take back the Senate, as long as Lott is gone.
What a bunch of losers.

And I havent heard a lot of rumblings of Chaffee switching either.
He wept when he heard that Jeffords switched.
I am much more worried about that melgomanic McLame..

Sounds like Rove has been freeping! I'd give alot more than a nickel to know how many hits FR has been getting from the DC area today! ;-)
If my guess is accurate and there have been thousands...Lott is truly toast.
Lott had no reservoir of goodwill among rank and file Republicans going into this debacle, and it shows.
To: Texasforever
weepers is the word I save for anti-freepers but I think it has a whole new meaning now.
