Updated SNIPER's TIMELINE for 2000-2001 (lots of new stuff!)

I found one mistake on MAY 31 2001... It was JOHN FERRIS, NOT JOHN EDWARDS that flew out of Antigua the same day as Muhammad, Malvo, and kids...

JOHN FERRIS

John Ferris, a New York man, was released on bond soon after his arrest in Nov 2002. We do not know yet why he was arrested. It may just be as a material witness.

Officials in Antigua said Ferris drew attention because his surname had been used in connection with other documents allegedly forged by Muhammad -- and because he was on the same plane on May 31 2001, when Muhammad, his 3 children, and Malvo left the island. But they have been unable to find any other link between the two men.

"We saw the name John Ferris -- we thought it was not coincidence, that maybe there was some connection," said Gertel Thom, the attorney general in Antigua.

John Malvo looks like a little kid. I hope they've got booster seats for the electric chair.

Report: Grand jury to consider evidence against fake ID suspect

(Bridgeport-AP, Nov. 17, 2002 8:00 AM) _ Federal prosecutors are expected to present evidence to a grand jury in Bridgeport next week against a man accused of repeatedly using false documents to obtain a passport.

That's according to a report today by the Connecticut Post.

The Washington Post reported today that the man, who has used five names, is linked to Washington, D.C.-area sniper suspect John Allen Muhammad.

The suspect was arrested and convicted last year on a state drug charge near Springfield, Massachussetts, while carrying a Connecticut driver's license bearing the name Edward Williams and a Hartford address, the Connecticut Post reported.

He also goes by the names of

Norman Manroe,
Norman Monroe,
Frederick Jones the Second and
John Edwards Junior.

He has claimed to be a citizen of the U.S., Antigua and Jamaica born on various dates.

[I think I read that Antigua believes his real name is Norman Migill Manroe, a Jamaican national.]

I've been talking to myself ( Not recommended : you keep getting snotty answers ! ) and wondering if the "Dynamic Duo" had been making use of " the old Comrades' Network "- a trail of sefehouses, etc. ,originally set up by Soviet-bloc agents and their sympathizers; later adapted for use by the "New Left" radicals of the 60's and 70's, Black Islam,the Panthers, and any number of semi-radical groups.

From what I've heard, some of the safehouses are in very interesting locations, and are maintained by folks who are now very influential in politics, banking, industry, and media circles. Their criminal exploits of the 60's and 70's - plus "liberal guilt" - make them vulnerable to incoming radicals of all sorts.

How about it ? Any of you out there old enough to remember the little pieces of history nobody talks about now ??

February 2000 - Tacoma WA - Muhammad and Mildred separated, when their divorce proceedings started to get ugly. (Another report says they separated Sept. 1999)
March 2000 - The court gave Mildred a restraining order against Muhammad.
Mohammad then took his 3 children from school without their mother's knowledge and/or consent.
The youngest daughter later tells this story in Antigua: 'Daddy came for visitation and told us he was taking us to visit a friend. But instead, he took us to the airport".
Randolph Simon (a Tacoma man) arraigned for Mohammad to leave for Antigua and enlisted Janet Greer (his cousin) to put them up on arrival.
March 28 2000 @ Muhammad first arrived in Antigua, according to island documents, accompanied by his three children. He entered the island using a forged driver's license. from Wyoming with his photo, but in the name of Thomas Lee Allen and it listed Michigan as his birthplace. He told authorities they were going to stay with "Jeanette Reed," even though he pre-arrainged plans to stay with Janet Greer,
mid April 2000 @ Not long after arriving, Muhammad talked Janet Greer into watching his kids while Muhammad returned to the US & Washington state.
April 16 2000 3am - Lynnwood WA - Nine .22 caliber rifle shots were fired into the police building. [Police suspect Muhammad]
late April 2000 @ After Janet Greer had been left alone with Muhammad's kids, Greer learned from the youngest child that they were kidnapped by their father. She reached Muhammad by phone back in Washington state and demanded he take back his kids. Muhammad returned and took his kids to live at the home of Janet Harris the principal of Greenville school.
April 2000 - Antigua - Muhammad enrolled his children at the school, Greenville Primary, using the last name Lee and giving them false first names.
spring 2000 - St.Johns Antigua - Lee Malvo, who arrived from Jamaica in 1998 with his mother, began reciting the tenets of Islam one day in his Seventh-day Adventist school. About the same time, he began living with John Allen Muhammad, an American convert to Islam, and three of Muhammad's children. Sometime after that, Muhammad's first name began appearing in front of "Lee" on some documents involving Malvo. In December 2000, Malvo suddenly stopped attending classes.
May 2000 - Mildred claims her ex-husband threatend by phone to kill her.
May 2000 - Tacoma - Muhammad sold his .223 Bushmaster rifle back to Welcher's Gun Shop in May, according to John Welcher, the shop's owner. The rifle had been purchased late 1999.
roughly June 2000 - Antigua - Muhammad visited Norman Miggil Manroe, aka John Edwards in prison, and officials believe Muhammad learned forgery from him.
He also has used the names Norman Monroe, John Edwards Jr., Frederick Jones II, Edward Williams, and others.
Manroe was arrested in Antigua for drug trafficing. Manroe was arrested in 2001 in Connecticut, again on a drug charge. And in November 2002, was also charged with forgery of official documents in relation to Muhammad. He was arrested while carrying a fake Connecticut driver's license. He has also used a fake Alabama drivers licence and fake Washington birth certificate.

The Antigua Sun published the photo on the right Nov 18th, calling him an Antiguan accomplice of Muhammad (John Edwards). [ I think these may be different people. Police and newspapers have had a hard time sorting out who's who with so many aliases and false identities.]
June 19 2000 - Muhammad applied for Antiguan citizenship and a passport using poorly forged support documentation that was blatently obvious. It claimed his mother was Eva Ferris who was born on the island. Principal Janet Harris falsely certified on the application that she had known him on the island for 1 year and 6 months.
July 04 2000 - Citizenship was granted and an Antiguan passport was issued in the name of John Allen Williams.
July 18 2000 - The passport issued two weeks earler was picked up by Muhammad. Apparently he had left the island again under false names and just returned.
September 11 2000 - Norman Miggil Manroe, aka John Edwards, (aka many other names!), a Jamaican, used forged paperwork supplied by Muhammad to obtain Antiguan citizenship and an Antiguan passport. Muhammad gave him a beautifully laminated certificate of birth from Washington state, and he also gave him a copy of Eva Ferris's birth certificate."
Sometime after leaving Antigua in 2001, Edwards wound up in Massachusetts and was arrested on a drug charge. He was turned over to the INS after officials determined he was not a U.S. citizen. He was arrested again Nov 15 2002, while serving time at a Connecticut correctional facility, on a charge of making a false statement to obtain a U.S. passport and was being held without bail in Bridgeport, Conn.
November 08 2000 - While on Antigua, Muhammad applied at the U.S. Consulate for a U.S. passport under the name of Thomas Lee, and used a fraudulent birth certificate from Pennsylvania that looked "a bit strange." The birth certificate was sent on to the U.S. Consulate in Barbados and "they confirmed it was false."
A State Department official, who asked not to be named said, that typically, the U.S. State Department's diplomatic security office would investigate such documents and determine if there was enough evidence to prosecute an individual. The official would not say what had been done in this case.
also on November 08 2000 - Manroe using the name John Edwards approached the U.S. State Department's consular office in Antigua and applied for a U.S. passport, according to court papers filed in Connecticut. Thi wsa the same day that Muhammad presented false documents to the consular agent to obtain a fraudulent U.S. passport of his own.
Edwards submitted a birth certificate for a man in Washington state and a driver's license from Alabama. The consular agent grew suspicious of the application, and the passport was never issued.
Dec 2000 - Malvo's mother Una James left Antigua and appears to have been smuggled to the US by Muhammad. Ms. James reportedly worked in the Fort Myers Red Lobster as a cook from January until November 2001
Malvo suddenly stopped attending classes in Antigua in December and stayed behind with Muhammad and his childred.

Another person who tried to enter the US in December but was caught at Puerto Rico was Muhammad's accomplice Norman Manroe. He was fingerprinted and apparently deported.
March 11-13 2001 - Muhammad arrested trying to smuggle an illegal alien to the US.
Muhammad was arrested by the police on March 11th at St. John's Antigua airport, when Muhammad showed up at the American Airlines ticket counter to board a plane to Los Angeles via Miami. He had a Florida birth certificate and a Washington state driver's license with the name Russel Dwight of Tacoma.
Police questioned Muhammad, but he escaped the police station and was never found. Police believe Muhammad planned to check in for the flight, then pass the ticket and false ID to someone else.

Muhammad may have escaped by bribing a police officer. One report said Muhammad was left in an unlocked part of the jail on the 13th, while a police officer went to use the phone, and he escaped.
A later 'taskforce report' said that based on the station’s diary, the sergeant in charge took ill and went off duty at 11:39 a.m. (on the 13th), and one minute later at 11:40 a.m. Muhammad walked out the station. [more] [more] [Note: An alien does not need a passport to enter US illegally, just the appearance of being a citizen, plus a US drivers license and US birth certificate]
again in March 2001 - Muhammad checked in again at the ticket counter in Antigua displaying suspicious documents. This time Muhammad identified himself as John Edwards of Texas. There is no evidence that he was arrested this time, so this smuggling may have succeeded.
April 14 2001 - Muhammad was caught smuggling illegal aliens into Miami Florida. He had fraudulent documentation, (a 15-year felony) He was also smuggling in two illegal alien (Jamaican) women and a girl with false documentation (another felony). [Their English must have been poor so they needed the personal escort] He also lied to INS investigators (another felony?) The aliens were supposedly deported. Muhammad was released without charges when the US Attorneys in Miami refused to prosecute. The US Attorney's office in Miami claims they are not allowed to comment on cases that have not become public.
April 23 2001 - In a hearing in Pierce County District Court, Washington state, Judge Molly Davis granted John Allen Williams's petition to formally change his name to John Allen Muhammad.
Muhammad lies under oath to the judge:
- Davis: Are you involved in any legal proceeding other than this name change?
- Muhammad: No, ma'am.
- Davis: Are you changing your name to defraud or mislead any person or creditor?
- Muhammad: No, ma'am.
  [ But these are purgury. (yet another felony) ]
  - His divorce case was still active
  - He appears to have not notified the divorce court of his name change, therefore it appears he DID have intent to defraud or mislead.
early May 2001 - Muhammad returns to Antigua along with suspected con-man Peter Gianquinto who had been there many times before. Records show they both checked into the Pineapple Beach Hotel. Both were thought to have been involved in numerous types of theft and fraud, including buying goods with bounced checks and reselling the items. and making forged documents. Near the end of MAY both persons left Antigua four days apart.

Peter Gianquinto was often spotted on Antigua with Muhammad, and it appears he could be an accomplice in numerous activities. Gianquinto, a U.S. citizen, accused of using a forged document to obtain a passport, is in federal custody after being arrested November 04 2002. He has a record of criminal charges in New York.
May 27 2001 - Muhammad's accomplice, Peter Gianquinto, returns to New York and then goes on to Seaside Heights NJ.
May 31 2001 - Muhammad left Antigua for the US in his own name, taking with him his three children in their own names. Accompanying them was a fourth person believed to be Malvo (using the name Lindberg Williams). This is the name of one of Muhammad's older sons who never went to Antigua. They left for Puerto Rico on American Airlines flight 2257, and then continued on to Florida.
Flying out on the same flight was another suspected accomplice John Ferris. [Ferris, an investment banker and treasurer was arrested in November 2002 in the Bronx for posession of false Identification he obtained with Muhammad's assistance]
June 2001 - Mohammad phones Isa Nichols in order to find the whereabouts of his 2nd wife Mildred.
June 21 2001 - Lansing MI - Bernita White was murdered by a sniper near a wooded area. [possibly unrelated but similar to Muhammad's MO].
August 06 2001 - Muhammad brought his children to the shelter in Bellingham, said Rev. Archer of the Lighthouse Mission.
August 13 2001 thru October 16 2001 - Lee Malvo attended Cypress Lake High in Fort Myers Florida, and lived with his mother at a rented home at 2510 Broadway in Fort Myers.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office shows one call to 2510 Broadway in March 2001 but law enforcement took no action against anyone. Around September 2001, [can anyone say WTC bombers?] neighbors report that people would come in and out of the house at all times of the night.
August 31 2001 - Police seized the 3 children from Muhammad. They find the kids because Isa Nichols gives police Muhammad’s license-plate number, and Muhammad applied for public assistance in August. The child-welfare authorities found the kids living at a homeless shelter with their father in Bellingham, Washington Muhammad was furious and humiliated.
September 04 2001 - Tacoma - Muhammad was required to appear for a hearing in which he lost his 3 children for good to his ex-wife. He was extremely bitter over this.
Mildred is fearful and leaves town with the kids, which the courts say is OK. She secretly goes to live with her sister and brother-in-law in Clinton MD (who ARE listed in the phone book, so she's not hiding extremely well).
early September 2001 - Bellingham - The Rev. Alan Archer, who runs the Lighthouse mission, was amazed to see Muhammad getting phone calls from a travel agent, shortly before the terrorist attacks.

"Muhammad flew to Denver or Salt Lake City on one trip, and said he hurt himself skiing", Archer recalled. "He also took a trip to his home state of Louisiana."
September 11 2001 - The WTC attacks.
abt. September 14 2001 - - Bellingham - Muhammad is almost in a barfight with the fisherman Drew Sandilands at the Horseshoe Restaurant because Muhammad defended Al Queda and the WTC bombers.
throughout September 2001 - After the 9-11 attack, homeless shelter employees and residents believe Muhammad is suspicious. He is too well dressed and takes regular airline flights. Not your typical homeless person - often flashed cash - spoke very highly of the WTC bombers. Muhammad was heard saying that 9-11 was very good and should have been done long ago. Muhammad claimed that 19 people did what a whole army could not do!
Sept 18 2001 to mid-October - Anthrax attacks terrorized the east coast as well as one Microsoft office in Reno NV. No one was ever caught. Most anthrax was mailed from the suburb of West Trenton NJ, five miles from Sure Shot Auto Sales where the sniper-Caprice is later purchased. One or two letters were apparently also mailed from Florida.
October 10 2001 - The 3rd Anthrax victim hits the news in Florida. Even if Muhammad is NOT involved with anthrax, this is all over the news in early October, further embolding Muhammad.
October 11 2001 10:30pm - Seattle - Assistant U.S. attorney Tom Wales is assassinated in his home in the Queen Anne Hill neighborhood. Someone fired four quick shots thru a basement window with a handgun, hitting prosecutor Wales as he sat in front of his computer. Shell casings were found at the scene and neighbors saw a man leaving.
Wales had hundreds of powerful enemies. The case has never been solved despite a $1 Million reward. [Muhammad came into large amounts of unexplained cash about this time and often traveled by airline. Did he resume his forgery trade? or had he taken up as a paid assassin? Muhammad was so P.O'ed with law enforcement at this time that he might even have done this on his own, but how he knew this FEDERAL prosecutor at the time, I don't know]
October 12 2001 - Tacoma - Muhammad is required to appear and sign a restraining order that day promising to stay away from Mildred and his kids.
John's name is already legally Muhammad, but he does not tell the court. He still signs his old name: John Williams. [another crime? He IS trying to defraud by keeping his new legal identity clean] Muhammad also complains in these records that his wife was awarded the family cars: "the 300 ZX and the Jaguar" ...actually, a 1998 Jaguar and a 1997 Nissan 300 ZX ...
October 17 2001 or later - Bellingham - Malvo joins Muhammad. [I believe Malvo did not choose to leave his mother on his own, but Muhammad flew to Florida about October 16th, and returned with Malvo by airline]
Malvo was enrolled as a junior at Bellingham High School, but school officials were suspicious because he had no papers or transcripts. He was given time to obtain them. He attended the high school from mid-October to mid-December apparently under the name John Lee Malvo. They both lived at the Lighthouse Mission.
Confusion occurred over Malvo's arrival date because a Tacoma karate school instructor, Felix Strozier, at first said John Malvo took karate lessons in his studio in summer 1997, along with Muhammad's other son. Mr Strozier later confirmed he was mistaken over the boys names, and it Lindburg Muhammad and John Muhammad Jr., not Malvo, who took the karate lessons.
Mr. Strozier told FoxNews on 11-02-2002 that he has never met Lee Malvo.
abt. October 17 2001 @ Bellingham - Rev. Archer of the Lighthouse shelter said he feared that Muhammad might be involved with a terrorist group, and called the FBI. He and other had noticed Muhammad had been taking lots of trips, including the Carribean, DC, Florida, and Louisiana, and often by airline.
October or November 2001 @ Bellingham - Waterfront Seafood & Bar, owner Lynne Farmer said "I saw him every morning for a month," referring to the period between October and November 2001.
Other reports say Muhammad walked Malvo to school, but only as far as this Seafood bar, where he lingered on. This dates it as being after Oct 17.
about November 27 2001 - Muhammad was driven by a co-worker to a gunsmith, where he was overheard asking about modifying a rifle so it could be "folded neatly in a small case". On November 30th, the co-worker alerted Bellingham police, the FBI, the Border Patrol and the ATF. Two months later, after nothing happened, she called the same authorities again.
Another gunsmith in Bellingham, Glen Chapman recalls Muhammad's story about shortening the firearm for 'mailing purposes' as "the phoniest thing I ever heard."
Dec 19 2001 - Malvo and mother were arrested by INS in Washington state, and detained for a month for being illegal aliens. The school had asked police about Malvo's missing records about the same time that the angry mother arrived looking for her missing son. Thats when police decided to contact the INS.
