May your happiness and love together inspire all around you!
Mr. S_S29 and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last week. Pretty cool at 30 years old.

Episcopalian American of Irish, English and Welsh dissent Are you dissenting from ALL of the above, or just Welsh?
Congratulations, BTW, and many happy years together.

"The Impeachment vote in the House remains the triumph of grassroots Conservatism and the Internet. I doubt any of us shall live to see anything like its kind again."Agreed!
This was a monumental day in my life.
Ahhhhh, forget that crap, your day is Saturday JohnGalt.
Just wondering, where you are going on your honeymoon? Hint, hint, spend some bucks: it will pay off later.

Congratulations! As far as the "loss" in the Senate goes, well just think that would have made the Goron President, energied the opposition faithfull, and we'd probably have him as President today.

Best of wishes to you and your intended bride.
As I once said to anothe FReeper, "may you walk side by side whenever you can, and always stand back to back otherwise".

If you make a break for it now, you can be in Mexico before it happens......

I suspect that JohnGalt will be far more "changed" by his spouse than she will by him. Perhaps she'll smooth out his rough edges, and help him learn that a man wrapped up in himself makes a pretty poor package.
But that's typically the way it is with marriage throughout history (the same history that JG seems to think he has risen above, being the most enlightened observer).

John, thank you for the story and all the best to you and your lady. It is tales like yours that remind me that we here in the Free Republic really are all a family, and despite our squabbling at times all our differences really do is serve to highlight all that we share and hold dear.
God bless, and thanks again.

Congratulations,JohnGalt!
My girl has stuck with me for 31 years, since high school. We've been married for 26 years, with three adult children.
From one very lucky man to another, best wishes for a long and joyous journey together!

Anyone lucky enough to get the handle "John Galt" of FR deserves to be congratulated.
So, congratulations!
(was up in Jackson Hole last year. I'm jealous.)

Belated congrats to you and your new wife, too! Thanks! I just gained about 200 cousins -- her great grandma had 18 kids. I just married into a huge Italian family from upstate NY...Geneva. It was like the movie, "My Big, Fat Greek Wedding" swapping out the Greeks for Italians. My little, southern, white bread family didn't know what hit them. :)

Wise words. I'm sure she'll be more effective than my flippant, knee-jerk remarks, too.

That's funny. Coming from an Italian family, although not as large as yours, I truly understand. Like I said to John Galt....Cent'anni....live a hundred years!

First, CONGRATS!!!
Then, when you are happily settled into your new life.. one we pray will be extremely blessed,.. we need to continue with your evolving political ideologies. :o)
No matter our differences, we wish you a wonderful marraige. May it be as "blessed" as ours has been. (That is quite a blessing, btw :o)

Might I suggest the
JohnGalt Wedding Live Thread for running commentary (and the cubicle-bound)?
I married the love of my life at 19 ripe years of age. Eighteen years later, we're still very much in love. I wish the same for you and your bride.
FReegards,
Tony
