Thanks for all you did to make this rally a huge success. I am not hung up on the fact that there was no print/TV media coverage but I did write a letter to the editor yesterday to the Sacramento Bee. The Bee gave good coverage to an anti-war rally which took place in Sacramento at the same time as our rally. Good coverage for THEM but no coverage for US. What else is new? Oh, well, upward and onward. We did get good coverage by conservative talk shows (Hugh Hewitt, Eric Hogue & Mark Williams - and Drudge even gave us a plug).

I'm a little irritated by our own friends calling it a "small" rally. If they'd been there, they'd know better. It wasn't small at all! We were a huge success and that's no B.S. For victory & freedom!!!

I must have missed a relevant thread or two. What's the significance of that hilarious three-eyed fish?

Blinky the fish is emblematic of DioXin causing mutations in fish and humans amongst other things. Blinky came to fame initially as part of a The Simpsons series.

GraYouT Davi$ has been accused of taking money for influence in getting a favorable ruling from a state board in exchange for money for TOSCO, a large refinery outfit amongst other things.

Or try Aide has no record of Tosco meeting. This is a recent denial of any wrongdoing again by a member of the Davi$' camp .

Paul Rogers, a Mercury News reporter, wrote up a couple of earlier articles as well. They should be in the old calgov2002 list.

Letter to the editor printed today (10/24) in Sacramento Bee. Here's the text:

A missed story
Re "Hundreds join anti-war rally," Oct. 20: The Bee gave great coverage to the anti-war protest, but was silent about FreeRepublic.com's "Dump Davis" rally, which took place on the same day on the south steps of the Capitol.

Our rally had great visuals -- a real dump truck, huge banners, anti-Gov. Gray Davis signs, pro-Bill Simon signs, as well as the "Vast Right Wing Street Theater," which featured two dueling "eGray hookers" to make fun of Davis' "pay to play" policies. About 150 people were in attendance. Several speakers gave rousing speeches. We were there to vent our outrage over Davis' outrageously corrupt governance and to tout our support for Simon.

It was a great rally but not one word was written in The Bee. Maybe it's because we're a totally grass-roots operation; we're not professionals. Or maybe -- and this is my theory -- The Bee is biased.

Printed in today's Sacramento Bee letters to the editor, 10/24 - better than a sharp stick up the butt, I guess:
