You claimed you were the expert, then guessed at the probable number. If the figures you gave are off by 25%, it makes a difference.

I found an actual number for Longs Peak, one of the most popular 14ers to climb - 15,000 climbers a year, plus there are many folks who attempt 14,000 foot peaks and don't make it all the way up. I would imagine Mt. Bierstadt gets even more traffic, because it's only five miles round trip and an elevation gain of less than 3,000 feet from the Guanella Pass trailhead, maybe an hour's drive from Denver. Like I said, I estimated there were five hundred people on Bierstadt when I climbed it on a Saturday morning - there must have been 200 people hanging out at the top when I got up there. Estimate 1,000 people each weekend, another 1,000 during the five weekdays, thirteen week climbing season and a few hundred more lunatics who climb it in fall and winter. Easily 25,000. But go ahead and demand more exact details. I've seen the problem firsthand. You haven't. I've been above timberline many times. You haven't. But don't let that stop you. Nitpick away if it makes you feel better.

To be honest, I'm glad you came back to have the last comment. I'm sure you and I agree on much more than we disagree, so I'm sorry I hung in there on this to the point that I did. In some instances, like on El Capitan, I would certainly agree that stuff should be carried out. In other places I believe my take might be more appropriate. Thanks for arguing your position forcefully. Take care.

this actually is a serious matter. You can't turn over a rock on some of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks without finding a nasty surprise underneath.

Under rocks is where liberal socialist DemoRAT envirowackos are found. Didn't you know?

No problem, freepers can get into a good argument and not hold it against each other later.

Dang, and all this time I thought they were month-old turds. Forgive me, but you can undertand my confusion, as similarities abound between the two...

Hey, I use your method most of the time when I'm in the woods.

Thanks. In light of some of my earlier comments, that was nice of you. Take care.

Well, I would not ask for advice regarding guns from someone who doesn't shoot.

Do NOT bring my Constitutional rights into a Colorado shit issue!!!!!!

Back the hell up! You are stepping over a line now.

I would venture that Dirtboy is as strong a second ammendment supporter as any of us.

That is why I was so polite, though I do not agree.

I did not say what I really felt.

Uh, it's a comparison. Don't like it? Fine, I'll do another one. I wouldn't ask for advice on, say, cars from an enviro-nut granola-eating tofu-reeking bike riding Boulder liberal.
