Why can't disgruntled Democrat primary voters sue the party because their nomination isn't running and nobody asked them? Why go through the charade of a primary if the selected candidate isn't really the candidate?

If I were a donor, I'd want my money back.

Yes, seems to me after the scolding that the Florida Seven got from SCOTUS, a court would be careful about jumping into this sort of thing too quickly. This does seem to be fast tracked. Desparation maybe?

If its Lautenberg... Let's pray they uphold the law and the Dems have to write his name in...

My husband thinks Forrester could beat Lautenberg even if Lautenberg's name is on the ballot... The man is 78...

"Lautenberg is en route to Trenton now, with an announcement by McGreevey expected soon."

When it comes to doing what they think is right regardless of law, a liberal court will be willing to do anything to humiliate themselves...

That's quite a scenario you have sketched. It's very tidy and much too believable. I pray you are just overimaginative, but I fear you are right.

Pallone scared me politically a lot more than Lautenberg. The only thing Lautenberg has is name ID. But he is a doddering old fool.

And not because it means anything, but just because I found the tie interesting, here's another link between Toricelli and Pallone.

Wifie didn't want to give up a sure thing. Life has to be much better as the wife of a U.S. Representative than the wife of an almost Senator.

Lautenberg and Torch are enemies. Torch may no longer cooperate.

More likely, I'd say that Pallone doesn't want to put his House seat in jeopardy only to find out that the Senate bid will not work.

The Democrats are going to have to find someone who isn't doing anything else in politics right now.

Like maybe Sharpe James.

The judge on Fox is saying that the NJSC is a liberal ACTIVIST court and will probably rule for the Dems.

Then "we" get to be the bad guys again and ask that the actual rule of law be imposed. I can hear it now.

No Launtenberg will stomp Forrester if he gets on the ballot. A majority in NJ don't want the GOP to take over the senate, and he is a perfect seat warmer. And he is well known, and has a 100 million dollar bank account. But he may not get on the ballot, because I think that may end up requiring Torch to resign, and he won't resign for Lautenberg. That is why the Dems didn't go to him first, because otherwise he is the perfect choice.
