Think I'll pass on it for today. I've recently been subjected to a picture of John Edwards. :)

So, basically, the Pentagon is experimenting with illegal drugs?

These would have been very effective against the Republican "rioters" (as described by the Press who never lie) who "intimidated" the Florida Elections Commission (or some one of that ilk) in fall 2000.

So, basically, the Pentagon is experimenting with illegal drugs? Ummmm.....yes. And it sounds like they want to force drugs upon civilians. Tinfoil still in place!
To: Overtaxed
Why don't they simply make the demonstrations illegal, end of story.
To: Overtaxed
A picture of John Edwards or an unfortunate overhearing of him would have the same effect.

Why not aerosolize Ecstasy and turn the riot into a ravin' lovefest?

I'll take four triple stack Euros so I can light off before Digweed pops top on his table...peace.

Reading my mind. Of course, the government has been exploring ways to control out of control people for some years now.

Don't they burn confiscated marijuana already? I seem to recall that a local police force once confiscated a huge amount of the stuff and didn't know what they were going to do with it. :)In Wayne county Michigan, after the trial and appeal processes are finished, the Sheriff disposes confiscated drugs by going to one of the steel plants around here and throws them into the blast furnace.
They used to do this every few months, and it made for a great photo op - Sheriff standing there, dumping this box into the furnace, and a whole bunch of steelworkers standing around trying to catch a whiff..
There are specific frequencies which the projector sends, and when humans are exposed to those frequencies, they suffer from nearly instantaneous projectile vomiting and diarrhea.
Ewwww! That would leave a big mess to clean up.
Yeah, but it is somewhat better than shooting them. That's fairly messy too, and it can inflame the situation.

If they decide in favor of using valium to intoxicate and incapacitate rioters, it will be an error of gigantic proportions. Can you imagine it, every day the streets will flow with thousands upon thousands of Libertarians rioting for the sole reason of getting stoned for free.ROFLMFAO!

Y'know, that might be a good unit to assign the "don't-ask-don't-tell" servicemembers...

Not a good idea. But I can almost guarantee we'll develop it anyway (if we haven't already), because somebody else is bound to. So we have to come up with antedotes and ways to disperse them, too.

Is this news coming out now because of the demonstrations in D.C. planned for tomorrow?
To: aristeides
I'd forgotten about those.
I kind of doubt that it has anything to do with those, but I'd never bet on it. If I had a weapon like that and planned to use it, I'd want it to be a surprise.
If the group tomorrow is the one I'm thinking of, they have a lot of professional demonstrators--probably under Ramsey Clark's "guidance". More than likely, they'd be prepared with gas masks, etc.
BTW, I'm not sure; but I wouldn't be surprised if it rains tomorrow in D.C. That might put a damper on their parade :)
To: Lion's Cub
Heavy rain is predicted for tomorrow in D.C.

In a news dispatch, the Libertarian Party would agree to endorse the plan if the authorities would agree to use a cannabis based extract.
