Muslim kills virgin daughter over sex claims

AMMAN: A Jordanian father who suspected his daughter of having sex before marriage promised police he wouldn't harm her – then shot her dead.

An autopsy later revealed the 17-year-old girl was still a virgin.

Police here in the Jordanian capital detained her to protect her from family members who believed she was having sex.

The girl, whose name has not been released, was handed over to her father after he signed a declaration promising not to harm her. But he shot her dead soon after.

The girl's death was the third "honour" killing in Jordan in the past week.

The older brother of a woman identified only as Ghazaleh, 28, stabbed her to death with a hatchet and knife in her Amman home. A report in The Jordan Times said the brother turned himself in to police, admitting he had committed the crime to redeem his family's honour.

He complained he could not tolerate rumours spread by friends and neighbours about his sister's sexual relations.

A third victim, Suwad Mahmoud, 24, was strangled by her 20-year-old brother with a telephone cord after her family learned she was pregnant before marrying her husband.

The victim's family celebrated her killing by offering sweets to friends and neighbours. Police later arrested the brother, whose name was not made public.

The latest killings follow a Jordanian cabinet ruling last December to exempt those accused of "honour" killings from heavy sentences such as death.

Honour crimes include the killing of a female relative "caught in the act of adultery" or even in a situation deemed "immoral".

The amendment dropped the concept that such killings could be justified, but lawyers and women's groups said it was unlikely to lower the number.

The Jordan Times said 11 women had been killed in such crimes so far this year.

According to official figures, an average of 20 women are killed in "honour crimes" every year in Jordan.

Wonderful Islam once again showing why it loves the human race to death. Where are the UN Human rights groups? (oh I forgot the UN is still condeming Israel for a masacre that didn't occur in Jenin). Where is the liberal press (they love Islam - a fascist religion where you are not required to think).

Hmmm. HOW COME THE HUMAN RIGHTS GROUPS are Silent? Could it be politically incorrect to go after muslims?

Of course it is Israel's fault. Everything according to Islam is either the USA's fault or the fault of the Jews.

In Truth:

Islam openly says that they are in a war for the world. It is time a Winston Churchill came to leadership and pointed out that Islam today is just as dangerous if not more dangerous than Nazi Germany. Time to rally and wakeup!

Time to drop a few atomic bombs in the Middle East...lets help Darwinian natural selection along by a few hundred years. Funny how the Japanese evolved after Hiroshima and Nagasaki...bet the Islamic world would too.

Our Churcill has spoken and from the same forum that Winston used to name the Iron Curtain. Please read Tom Delays speech. It got little coverage the press as Churchills did in his time but the warnings are just as significant today.

These people are sick!!

They believe in killing for the sake of killing. They justify it any illogical way they choose.

The Muslim culture is full of switch hitters.

Kandahar comes out of the closet -- ...the gay capital of South Asia throw off strictures of the Taleban...

See "The Sexual Rage Behind Islamic Terror" by Jamie Glazov, FrontPage Magazine columnist here:  22 (on above thread) or here:  The Sexual Rage Behind Islamic Terror

See "Repressed Homosexuality" by Michael Griffin at 50 (on Kandahar thread above).

This insanity of murdering one's daughters, even rape victims, for the "honor" of the family is spreading to Europe as well.  See,  Tolerating Intolerance: The Challenge of Fundamentalist Islam in Western Europe

Earlier this evening, I saw a "Booknotes" on C-SPAN featuring a middle east expert, a professor from Princton University. The thrust of his book was that while during the 10th through the 15th century the Arabs' were the world leaders in science and math, they fell behind due to two main causes. His thesis posits the first cause was that the countries that bordered the Atlantic had to build stronger ships, able to weather the Atlantic storms. This allowed these ships to carry bigger guns and and more goods. This in turn, led to the bridging of various cultures and melding their math and science knowledge into a cohesive body that was greater then the Arabs that did not have these advantages.

More interesting was that Islam denigrated women to such an extant that it effectivly cut off their possible contributions in advancing their science and math prowess. This professor was an Arab, although an Americanized one, and he bemoaned the fact that his regions religion forced half the population to ignore the contributions of the other half. He viewed this as a huge disadvantage to the advancement of middle easterners to the level of Western sociaties.

I'll think of this, in conjunction with your post, the next time I hear some clymer tell me how Islam is the religion of peace and all good in the world.

Be well...

"The victim's family celebrated her killing by offering sweets to friends and neighbours."

A wholesome tradition last seen in Palestine some hours after the WTC attack. If this is the Muslim version of the coffee klatch, what is the Islamic version of a lynch mob?

The thrust of his book was that while during the 10th through the 15th century the Arabs' were the world leaders in science and math, they fell behind due to two main causes.

Actually, that's not true. Inventions and innovations in technology were occuring all throughout this period in Western Europe and Italy (Renaissance?). Similar improvements didn't occur in the Islamic world even at this time. Mathematicians were just about the only group that could do anything since their work was theoretical and less likely to trip over religious restrictions (and even this group was tiny when compared to the West). Most innovations seen in the Islamic world came about through the importation of Westerners, free and slaves. But such innovations didn't get passed on and improved on through the generations. Instead, Islamic customs and laws choked out the chances of improvement and the possibility of cross-fertilization of ideas.

Think about it. During this period, the West launched Crusades that attacked the heart of Arab strength. These Crusades were launched by sea across great distances, generally using surplus nobles and forces. They were only beaten back the rise of the Turks, a newly converted people (i.e. not yet stagnant under Islam) and after many years.

Islam, despite it's seemingly greater strength, was unable to launch similar naval conquests into Italy or Southern France. Why? Because Islam is inherently antithecal to progress itself. It can never be more than a parasite on neighboring cultures. Left to it's own devices, it would return humanity to a Bronze Age culture.

You are correct in most of your post. The Renaissance was a product of the Sixteenth Century. Martin Luther nailed his 97 complaints in 1517. This event has been seen to be the first crack of light into the Dark Ages. The Renaissance followed.

As an aside, this professor made the point that Christendom had it's reformation but that Islam had not. He opined that it was long past due.

No, Luther comes rather late in the process. His act sets off the Reformation which is the end of the Renaissance.

For example, Da Vinci was born in 1452 and the printing press was invented in 1440. So the Renaissance was fully underway in the 15th Century. Others such as Boccacio and Petrarch go back to the 14th Century. But the innovations of that period are based on ideas and break-throughs that go back centuries before that.

The truth is that the Dark Ages were always a misnomer. There were rough decades, such as the decades when the Carolingian Empire collapsed and the Vikings first began pillaging, but on the whole there was a slow steady progress in the six centuries before Luther (with the major interruption of the Black Death). Agricultural innovations had allowed the population in much of Europe to exceed Roman days by the time of the great plague.

Logic and Islam are like fire and water. The two cannot co-exist. The more I learn of this so-called "religion" the more I think that it has no place in civilized society. In addition, the more I learn of it, the more I equate it to satanism.
