(Nods) yeah, it can be a scorcher. I swear it must have been 110 F yesterday afternoon. But then anything beats the steel beach. (I had a bud on the Stennis who used to pop in to visit us when they put in at Jebel Ali, which was often)

So you were here in 90-91? Okay - it's changed a LOT since then. They're really trying to turn the place into a tourist spot and, if you like to shop, they've hit the nail on the head.

I'm sure the guys in the really mangey souks still smell funny, though ; )
