You might want to check out the web site of the organization, before they remove it or edit it. It's at:

http://www.goccp.org/

On just about every page on the site you will see references to what "Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend" is doing for you.

I just visited the Office of Crime Control and Prevention web site and noticed a link for "feedback". This is the message that I sent:

"Did the Lt. Governor's campaign pay for this web site or is this one on the taxpayers?"

The Baltimore Sun's take on the story: "Federal jury widens probe of crime office" has similar but also other information.

http://www.sunspot.net/news/custom/election/bal-te.md.goccp13aug13.story?coll=bal%2Dhome%2Dheadlines

I'll bet it really hurts the Sun to have to print this stuff.

From the article:

The goal of the grand jury investigation being conducted by U.S. Attorney Thomas M. DiBiagio is unclear, and DiBiagio has declined to comment. But the probe increasingly appears to focus on whether spending by the agency, the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention, conformed with federal guidelines.

Townsend has dismissed the probe as "political garbage" orchestrated by DiBiagio. DiBiagio is a Republican who was recommended for his post by U.S. Rep. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., Townsend's likely GOP opponent.

There's the "Machine" line on all this. They'll use it over and over, implying that DiBiagio & Ehrlich are in bed and cooking it all up. They'll keep bludgeoning Erlich with it until his ears bleed. And, of course, The Sun will take up the same line, filling it's OP Ed pages with "Machine" spin. Game over! Nothing ever changes in the land of crooked politics, Maryland!

from the Biography on KKTs campaign website --

As Maryland's first woman Lt. Governor, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend has taken on the issues that Marylanders care about most, from improving schools to fighting crime, from creating jobs to ensuring that children and seniors get the quality health care they deserve. Every step of the way, she has sought to draw citizens into the process and remained focused on getting results.

...snip...

As Maryland's point person on criminal justice, Lt. Governor Townsend created the HotSpots program which brings together law enforcement and community leaders to fight crime in some of Maryland's toughest neighborhoods. Hailed as a national model, HotSpots has gotten real results, reducing violent crime at record rates. In addition, Lt. Governor Townsend began the Maryland Police Corps, recruiting young people to serve as police officers and training them with community policing techniques designed to build trust between citizens and law enforcement.

She has used the same results-oriented strategy to maximize the impact of Maryland's other anti-crime efforts. Her pioneering Break the Cycle anti-drug initiative aims to break the cycle of drug use and crime by combining drug testing, sanctions, and treatment to keep people who are on parole and probation off drugs. The basic philosophy is simple: stay clean to stay out. Like her other initiatives, this pilot program is getting results: drug use by offenders in the program is down by 56%.

As Chair of the Cabinet Council on Business and Economic Development, Lt. Governor Townsend leads Maryland's economic development initiatives. Her leadership helped reduce or eliminate over 30 separate taxes, returning over $2.6 billion to State taxpayers, including the first reduction of Maryland's personal income tax rate in 30 years. Her work also led to a 62% reduction in Maryland's welfare rolls and Maryland's job creation rate jumping from 41st to 15th in the nation, with 287,000 new jobs created since 1995.

Lt. Governor Townsend's leadership in building communities is also exemplified by real results to get better health care for families. Maryland is now providing access to health insurance for over 95,000 of the State's neediest children. In addition, almost 60,000 seniors now have access to affordable prescription drugs.

Would it be possible to accuse her of falsifying a resume? This is such inflation of the truth!! She and her spin team are delusional!

You know she's screwed up big when all the liberal rags start printing damning information about her... the Baltimore Sun had a similar article today loaded with about as much ammo (no pun intended) against KKT.

If anyone would like to ask her campaign staff about these and other deficiences in the their candidate's ability to govern, I have located some of their email addresses:
Campaign Manager Alan Fleischmann: alan@friendsofkathleen.com
Campaign Spokesperson Kate Philips: kate@friendsofkathleen.com
Campaign Spokesperson(?) Hannah Powers: hannah@friendsofkathleen.com
Generic "email to Kathleen": kathleen@friendsofkathleen.com

Hannah is the only one who actually responded to one of my emails... but I know they're getting them. :-)

She ain't a patch to what Willy-Don would say about himself! The stench should reach to the heavens. But in the end...she'll be Gov. The "Machine" has a mind of it's own!

KKTownsend used public money to tout her "legacy" as a "crime fighter."

IIRC Maryland has one of the highest armed robbery rates in the nation. Some crimefighter!

Murder of and by teenagers in Baltimore is increasing. Kathleen seems oblivious to this.

This story is a major factor in her slide in the polls.

And you know she's in deep clinton if the Washington ComPost is publishing a negative story about her.

More news from the home state of Paul Sarbanes and Barbara Mikulski.

And did you notice that Michael Sarbanes is on KKT's payroll?

I would settle for the dethroning of the gun-grabbing Komissar Mitchell if nothing else were accomplished, and I tell the MD Troopers Assn." this every time they come around to ask me to help in the replenishment of their keg and dance fund....
