America First Party Resolutions on James A. Traficant
America First Party National Convention ^ | August 10, 2002 | Daniel Jay Charles

Posted on 08/12/2002 8:58:19 AM PDT by RFP

There are two resolutions concerning "Jimmy the Rugless" on the AFP's new website:

Resolution of Invitation to Rep. James A. Traficant, Jr.
and Resolution of Outrage at the Jailing of Congressman James A. Traficant

Resolution of Invitation to Rep. James A. Traficant, Jr.

(Adopted by unanimous vote of the America First National Committee on June 26, 2002)

Whereas, James A. Traficant, Jr., a uniquely independent member of the US House of Representatives from the state of Ohio, promotes in both word and deed public policies supported by the membership of the America First Party and enunciated in the Principles of the America First Party-including but not limited to the abolition of the IRS, the securing of our borders, the restoration of Constitutionalism and responsible and open government, and trade policies that are in the best interest of our nation's working people; and,

Whereas, James A. Traficant, Jr. has proven himself a unique quantity in Washington, by forcefully, persuasively, and entertainingly advocating commonsense truths, at every opportunity, that seem to elude many of his colleagues at all levels of government-truths which resonate and are celebrated by everyday Americans in their daily lives and interactions, and truths that, if ignored, will lead our country to ruin-for examples the dangers of a loss of sovereignty through NAFTA and GATT, the UN, the ICC, and his unheeded warnings concerning a hostile China;

Therefore, be it now resolved by the America First National Committee:

That, We do hereby invite Ohio Representative James A. Traficant, Jr to address our convention as the Keynote Speaker of the Founding Convention Speakers Program.

-------------------------------------

Resolution of Outrage at the Jailing of Congressman James A. Traficant

(Adopted by unanimous vote of the National Convention on August 10, 2002)

Be it resolved that the America First Party expresses its outrage that Congressman Traficant is behind bars and cannot attend our Founding Convention; and

Whereas, Janet Reno, who accepted full responsibility for the reckless behavior of the Federal agents who burned down the Branch Davidian Religious Facility in Waco, Texas in 1993, is not only walking around free, but has the audacity to run for Governor of the great state of Florida;

Therefore, be it resolved that it is the sentiment of the Founding Convention of the America First Party that Janet Reno and James Traficant should trade places.

James Traficant is no conservative. Neither is he a friend of conservatives- he is VERY pro-abortion, pro NEA, pro Bill Clinton and anti-impeachment.

I think both he and Reno should share the same jail cell.

BTW, here is Traficant's miserable voting record.

There was one dissenting debater during this resolution. The disagreement was that person thought that since Reno is responsible for 80 murders, 17 of them children, she should be hung, which though no longer used in federal cases I think it is still on the books.

If he didn't have it he is getting it. Look at the last two years you have data for. He is seeing that where Washington is going with either the Democrats or Republicans is straight to the New World Order cesspool. Fast track trade approval will miraculously result in more exported American manufacturing and Gee when we are Bankrupt your nice elite "Demonicans" will tell you SORRY Guys but the UN is going to financially prop us up so we have to accept their rule and their court system even though W tried to exempt us from it. That is just the "way it happened".

Wake up, smell the cesspool.

I watched the debate on impeaching Slick Willie and it is true he voted against all impeachment Charges but if you are used to seeing James Trafficant in his normal style you could tell that he had been very likely kept up for either the last 24 of 48 hours by Democrat operatives telling him he better tow the line.

You are impressed that Traficant's voting record improved when Republicans controlled the House? He voted more conservatively knowing that the Democrats could not kick him out of the House without support from the GOP.

So who did he try to please?

His voting record shows that he will vote with whomever is in power. If the Dems control the House, he has a 34 percent voting record. If the Republicans control the House and his impeachment, he votes 70 percent.

I think YOU need to wake up and smell the cesspool. It is people like Traficant who is making it stink.

Another example of how liberal the media has become - you almost never see it reported that Traficant is a democrat. The Washington Compost usually buries that tidbit near the second or last paragraph of any story on the man, while the banner headline usually reads "Rep. Traficant Fined" (the rep meaning representative, though they want you to think republican).

If Trafficant is the stinker why did the house vote to stay Trafficant's removal until investigations could be done verbally but when votes were to be registered by electronic device he lost??? Why have 3 jurors now come out and said if they had even heard the testimony in the House ethics committee they would have voted to not convict him? One of the main prosecution witness was economically involved with Judge Wells husband. The same witnesses are involved in the Case of Richard Detore which Judge Wells HAS RECUSED HERSELF from the Detore case due to economic considerations involving her husband. Trafficant is a political prisoner. He had become dangerous because he was not a member of either Good Ol' Boy Club.

You wake up! I already have.

Today's conservative thinkers sound like this:

"Traficant got a raw deal. [snif.. sniff] So I don't care that he was a flaming liberal who supported taking my tax dollars to pay for welfare abortions. I don't care that he supports the NEA, which puts out taxpayer funded trash. I don't care that he is a big labor socialist. And I don't care that he supported keeping a lying, perjuring sleazeball in the White House when Congress was given evidence the president broke the law."

This is the new conservatism? We would be in sorry shape as a nation if we had 435 of these guys in office.

May I remind you then that George Bush did not replace any of Slick Willies hand picked U.S. Attorneys( and slick replaced all 1200 U.S. Attorneys when he got in) May I also remind you that SPENT LOTT a Republican manufactured the KANGAROO KOURT for Slick and Trafficant had quite evidently gone through alot before he caved. I didn't see an exhausted Spent Lott but a bright cheery one saying that "well it would be inappropriate to actually have witnesses in a trial". Who is the worse traitor??? The judge is conflicted and you dont care??? Read my previous posts. I don't care if he was a political adversary if he has been railroaded then it is wrong and all the indications I have seen is that he has.

By the way standing up for right regardless of a persons political persuasion is called PRINCIPLE. I haven't seen very many Republican or Democrat Senators that can stand for that. George Bush won't even tell the Justice Department to pursue the bribery for pardon of Mark Rich.
Now tell me how principled the Republicans are again???

Can tell the difference between someone with a ACU rating of 96 (Lott) and an ACU rating of 34(Traficant)? Are you serious? You may not like Trent Lott's leadership style (I haven't been impressed with him as leader - and I was hoping he would be a big improvement over Bob Dole) but his voting record is conservative. He belongs in the Senate - just not as leader. Traficant's lifetime voting record doesn't reach the level of the GOP most liberal member Lincoln Chafee. On the issue of impeach which voted against Bill Clinton and which stood by his side? If the Senate trial lasted six months Clinton would not have been removed. 50 of 55 Republicans voted to remove Clinton and 0 out of 45 Democrats voted to remove him. The Democratic Party (and public opinion polls) were with Clinton the entire time and would not have suddenly changed if the trial lasted a few days/weeks/months longer.

I could care less about an ACU Rating. The actions are what matter and when SPENT LOTT held a KANGAROO KOURT FOR slick willie he forever became a traitor, What you don't apparently know was that until the most liberal of the Senators got to SPENT LOTT, probably with threats of his FBI file getting out, There were 64 Senators willing to vote to convict Sick Willie( this is not a typo but intentional). The trial only needed to convince three more which was within the realm of possibility. I was tracking this a little bit closer probably than you. If you doubt it delve into the archives. I was the one keeping tabs on the Congress critters positions. It is true that Many Senators didn't make that list but many were not as lock step until SPENT LOTT gave in.

And where was Traficant during impeachment? In Bill Clinton's corner. Lott, even with all his warts, voted to convict Clinton. Your man Traficant voted NOT to impeach and not to even investigate.

I hope you aren't one of the people who complained that the 'spineless GOP' allowed a homosexual to address the convention. After all, he was not a convict, an no doubt had a better voting record than your liberal Democrat.

I could care less about an ACU Rating.

When all else fails, claim a conservative voting record doesn't really matter. Besides what is really important is if you have a hair piece and give colorful one-minute speeches.

until the most liberal of the Senators got to SPENT LOTT, probably with threats of his FBI file getting out, There were 64 Senators willing to vote to convict Sick Willie

64 senators willing to convict during the impeachment trial? That's really laughable. I wish their had been 67 votes to convict but the Senate (and public opinion) were nowhere close to being 64% in favor of removing Bill Clinton. Where do you could up with this? Do you have a REAL hard news source? (Like Washington Times, Wall Street Journal, Fox News) Not some idoit with a website and a theory. When stuff doesn't go you way just blame it on the secret FBI files.

I am a little closer to it then just any website. For example one of the "nearly convinced" democrats was my own states Senator Bob Graham another was Senator Byrd. Are you telling me you believed the lamestream "let's move on" media?? You are dumb if you believe the "let's take another poll" media. If you are so far gone on mainstream media perhaps then you can so elegantly answer a question that they won't. What is an impeachable misdemeanor? If you can answer that your screen name may really mean something.

There were Senators on bothsides willing to convict but the Slick Willie machine went into full "let's move on mode". I am willing to bet those polls you refer to were taken in Washington D.C. of most of the welfare recipients.

Are you telling me you believed the lamestream "let's move on" media??

If the liberal media's polling had been off by more than a few points the conservative media poll's (Fox News, Washington Times, Wall Street Journal) would have shown that. But, polling from across the political specturm showed between 60% and 70% of the nation supporting Bill Clinton during impeachment. Of course I believe the liberal pundits in the media did press a "let's move on agenda." But who are the mystery senators who were going to convict Clinton. Robert Byrd (and Russ Feingold too a very limited degree) were the only Democrats that I ever saw signal that they were even considering how to vote. The rest of the Democratic Party was just a bunch of rubber stamp Clinton appologists. Not a single Democrat in the Senate voted guity and only five southern Democrats in the House (wanting to be re-elected) voted to impeach Clinton. Btw, an impeachable offense is anything the House of Representatives says it is.
