I agree. That one man was Connie Mack (R), Florida.

What about the House? Don't they have a probe.

Here's my theory...

Connie Mack was a popular Republican senator from Florida. He decided not to run for re-election due to health reasons. Had he run he would have been re-elected easily. In fact, the RATs probably wouldn't have even put up a serious candidate against him.

After he was sworn in he could have resigned his seat and Jeb could have appointed another Republican to take his place. Jeffords wouldn't have jumped, because his switch still wouldn't have affected the balance of power in the Senate.

I'm glad to say that Mack is still alive, so I'm assuming his condition may not have been as grave as originally believed. So, this one decision has greatly changed the course of our country. And that's why Connie Mack, more than Jim Jeffords, changed the make-up of the Senate and has made W's presidency extraordinarily difficult.

It would have been unethical for him to run for a seat he did not intend to keep.

I'm not so sure that Mr. Mack " Did " that . However, the result was the seat was left open to any opposition party who wanted a shot at it ; yes .

I have no knowledge of his health issues if there are truly any , nor is it my business to know unless he is to the point of being unfit to hold a public office .

It seems to me that health issue line is commonly used by several critters , and I expect Condidit to even use it . Perhaps if we had far less Rino's in office the loss of Mr. Mack would not have been so unsettling for so many of us .

We can only hope for the best, remember the people didn't elect a Dem. majority. One man did that for all of us...actually cruel fate and fickle fortune are responsible for the Dem majority - a plane crash two weeks before the election which induced a lot of non-thinking types to vote out of sympathy for the unqualified widow of the 'rat crash victim in Missouri and the tragic premature death of the decent Paul Coverdale in Georgia - makes ya wonder.......

Time to get on the phones to LEVIN and call him a COWARD-a senator who does not want to get to the TRUTH- a man who puts his party above the people HURT by the Enron disaster-and the citi-group involvment. Time to CALL LEVINS office and let those nutcases know that thousands of us are aware of Rubin's folly.

What about the House? Don't they have a probe?

Damn good question.

Rubin and the rest of the above named rat-pack need attending to by a committee where the Chairman's not a robo-Dem.

There's gotta be some House Committee that can drag these slick and slimey characters out of the weeds and haul 'em in front of the cameras.
