The worst of them don't retire until 2006. I'm sure they think we will have forgotten by then, but we won't.

see reply 14 on this thread. :) I'm for booting them all.
To: not-alone
Just tell them that these are the kinds of judges who ban the Pledge of Allegiance.

I agree. For all his faults, Wells deserves retention. Especially since any attempt to target any other justices may result in the retention of the justice who should be dumped, Anstead. Anstead is the one who orchestrated the majority of the Scofflaws for their last, most outrageous decision in the election aftermath. Anstead is the one who must go.

Anstead, one of the four who voted for the Scofflaws' last and worst opinion in the election aftermath -- in fact, the justice most responsible for that judicial monstrosity --, is up for retention this year. Let us hope that he is dumped.

Good luck Florida. Here in California we have experience tossing out liberal supreme court justices. One election we gave three of them the boot.
Chief Justice Rose Bird and two of her cronies keep blocking the state's efforts to execute convicted murderers. The good citizens of the state got tired of their games and overwhelmingly voted them out.

The
original decision
was 7-0. I forgot about that one, but if I recall correctly, it was based on a misreading of Florida law which placed the power of appointing electors in the hands of "the people". You'll have to refresh my mammary, folks, for it is hazy on this subject, and I do recall that the SCOTUS bitch slapped them for it.
My belief is that Wells redeemed himself with his dissent. I know you'd like to toss him over the side as well, but one Freeper who practiced in Florida before Justice Wells indicated that he ran a good court and followed the Rules of Evidence quite well.
Anstead and Pariente were hacks, who may have been angling for District Court jobs at the Federal Level.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

Please reread my #24. I agree with you that Wells should not be tossed overboard, and that Anstead should be.
To: Kermit
The pubbie dominated State legislature should have impeached their butts, but they're COWARDS, like almost all GOP legislators. COWARDS, COWARDS, COWARDS.Kermit, this has to be nominated for stupid post of the year. Might not win, but would certainly be in the top 1%.
To everyone else in Florida. There is a chance at getting these justices voted out. I don't imagine that the voting on this issue is all that high. A dissatisfied Republican high turnout on this issue might do the trick. Probably not, but there is a chance.

Great Post! Wasn't aware of this pending election... until now.
As Florida residents in CST we had the distinct displeasure of hearing the results called in our state before many in our NW county even voted.
Freepers consider those morons shredded chad...
