Please Pray for Freeper Friend and Other Family Friend

Please pray for Freeper Friend Lex (has not posted here in awhile) who has cancer and is in much pain. I have posted to several threads but not an independent thread for prayer for her until now. Please pray for God's healing mercies for Lex, a dear one who attended the 1998 March for Justice and who was a frequent article poster here. Please pray for God to provide all the necessary wisdom and to supply every need involved with this situation. Thank you in advance, all you Free Republic prayer warriors.

Also, a brother of my sister in law been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease, otherwise known as Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This is a terrible, fatal disease and for him has started in his throat area which is the worst place for this to start. His name is Johnny.

All prayers for him are welcome. He has three grown children but a 12 year old neice (also my neice) whose heart has been broken by this news...and of course his sister - my sister in law - the same. Please pray for God's help, for good medical care and for some light to break into the darkness here and into Johnny's heart.

We cannot understand these illnesses. We can only pray for God's healing mercies to come into each situation...and, well, FReeper pray-ers know how to pray.

VetsHusbandand Wife - Hospice is such a wonderful thing! They are at work for Lex and have been wonderful.

MCM - thank you for that Psalm - have looked it up and will send this to both the affected families. And will keep reading it. Prayers for you continue - and you are such an inspiration for us all.

Psalm 91 starts with some of the most powerful words in the Bible:

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the Lord , "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Would you please add Yvonne and Luke to your list. Yvonne has cancer.

Luke has a genetic condition and if the Lord does not intervene, will have to endure a bone marrow transplant and 6 months in isolation. He is 2.

How we need God's help in all these situations. And, how wonderful to know, our God is an awesome, living God who has built into the universe the "Prayer Principle". Elizabeth Elliott has said that God has set things so that we, mere human beings, can participate with Him in his great redeeming, healing work through prayer. What a privilege and an awesome responsibility! United in prayer for God's healing mercies and miracles for all these loved ones!

Lord Jesus, please rest your healing hand upon Lex and Johnny. Give clarity where there is confusion, peace where there is turmoil, and the knowledge of Your presence in their midst. Touch each person close to them as well...that they would be ministering to Lex and Johnny's needs in a tender and loving way. Give wisdom to the medical community...direct their every step. May Lex and Johnny, while in physical distress, honor and glorify you. Amen.

Let's continue praying for God's healing mercies to reach Lex, her family - and Johnny - and his family. Lex knows the Lord Jesus. Johnny does not, as far as I know. Prayers for both to learn of Him and His forgiving, redeeming grace at this time of so great a need. And, of course, continued prayers for God's help and healing through all of these sufferings.
