Not pretty at all. I feel as if we're back in the era of the Borgia popes. Corruption at every turn. Thanks for your sympathies.

Rembert and his ex are both losers. Guess what? The Pope accepted his resignation, with gratitude for all his service, yadayadayada. What a surprise! ;D
The ex-lover, Paul, is broke again. No wonder he came out of the woodwork. Maybe he can make a book and movie deal. It's fun thinking up titles: "Lover, Come Back to Me"; "Love in the Ruins" (of the Milwaukee Cathedral); "Rembert Remembered"; "Love Is a Many-Spenders Thing".....

The $14,000 was in 1980's dollars; the $450,000 was more recently, I think.

Well, looks as though he was a degenerate as well as a heretic. Was he successful in wreckovating the cathedral?

He wreckovated it, all right. You can see pictures of the desecration on this thread:

I'm sure this 'Christodrama' would have been worthy of the Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat. Yeah, right.

Yes, and Marcoux would always have the leading roles. Weakland is the first bishop (of modern times) to become a threatrical "angel" (of course, spending the people's money and not his own. Such GAY philanthropy!
