Approval of student visas for two September 11 terrorists six months after they attacked America raises "serious concerns" about the ability of the Immigration and Naturalization Service to track foreign students, a report said yesterday. Justice Department Inspector General Glenn A. Fine called the INS decision to issue the approvals "untimely and significantly flawed" after an investigation by his office into the notification of a Florida flight school that the visa status of hijackers Mohamed Atta, 33, and Marwan Alshehhi, 23, had been changed from "visitors" to "students."

The INS certainly deserves a great deal of criticism, but where is the focus on the State Dept? I thought they were responsible for granting visas. The problem starts there. Unbelievable this was not adequately dealt with, one month after 9/11.

State dept is nothing but a bunch of socialists dreaming of a benevelont world where everything and everyone is wonderful. I have yet to ever see an openly pro American anti rest of the world type in the state dept. How about someone there that gives a damn about America and a little less about some dictator in say syria or saudi aribia. oh no you can't have that there the rest of the world wouldn't like it. Enough to make you sick. Abolish the Dept Of State.

A year and a half ago I was in D. C. And was outsied the dept of State. I stood there and flipped the building and everyone in it off and it felt good. Then I went to many of the other big govt. headquaters and flipped them off and I felt very good doing it. That is how I feel about these wastes of life. They take my money and do little on my behalf in return.
