WASHINGTON — The Democratic National Committee is accusing Republicans of breaking the law in a fund-raising effort that Republicans hope will help raise millions of dollars on top of the $30 million they expect to collect at a gala Tuesday night in Washington.
The uproar revolves around a photo of President Bush calling Vice President Cheney from Air Force One on Sept. 11. The photo is part of a three-picture set that depicts "the defining moments of 'The First Year' of the George W. Bush presidency."

The Democrats are so disgusting-- who do they think will buy their whining? Comparing Clinton's White House rent-a-room operation to Bush offering a public-domain photograph in response to campaign contributions is ridiculous.
Terry McCriminal is losing all touch with reality. Go, Terry, Go. Destroy what is left of your pathetic party.

I'll gladly send my $150 donation to the RNC for autographed copies of the photos. The DNC does not like a taste of their own medicine, do they?

Now I know what to do: I'll be sure to buy the picture set from the RNC. After all, it sure has to beat The Stainmaker posing with the White House sink.

Democrats are aggressively complaining about the fund-raising letter, calling it unethical, politically unsuccessful, possibly illegal, and exploitative of the tragedy.Terry McAwful also called the use of the 9/11 picture "grotesque." Well, it's hard to argue with him -- the Democrats of all people are experts in "grotesque," so they must know what they're talking about.
As to the use of the picture being "politically unsuccessful," if that's the case, why are they having such a hissy fit?
The Democrat Party is repugnant. May God strike me dead if I ever vote for one of those creeps.

Poor Terry McAuliffe! All the money he has raised for Billy Blythe and Miss Hitlery can never buy them the dignity that GWB displays.

Betcha a lot of donations come pouring in, mine among them. The more the sh*thead demos complain, the more I'll support the Republicans. Bush is excellent in the captain's chair showing Americans how to stand tall, while Clintoon the buffoon can only push others down on their knees.

The NBC broadcast that did this called Clinton, "President".
The NBC execs manufacture "news". The pictures are no big deal.

Wait a minute! I didn't see where it said that W was standing in front of the wreckage of the WTC in the photos. How is pictures of him talking to Cheney exploiting 9-11? Are the Demons telling me they wouldn't have done the same for Bubba or Hillary? Terry is the Clintons's man alright; deflect your own evil by trying to cast a light where there is none.
To: RobFromGa
It was a disgusting comparison on the news tonight. A public domain picture of a courageous President is a far cry from renting out the Lincoln bedroom so hollyweird people can jump up and down on the Lincoln bed.

As you might guess, this story, published nowhere but nonetheless hot off the DNC Fax machine, was the number 2 story on both the NBC and ABC evening news shows. To describe these photos as the moral equivalency of the Lincoln Bedroom Sleepovers is "straining at a microscopic gnat."
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this fund-raising plan - but the DNC just has nothing else with which to attack, so they're counting on the media to do as they have in the past - carry their water for them.

The NBC execs manufacture "news". The pictures are no big deal.If I remember the media coverage of Sept 11, those 'anchors' took great glee in criticizing President Bush 'running away from his responsibilities' on Air Force One. The popularity of that photo is exactly because it shows his concern and determination while he was in the airborne White House.
And the free publicity to the RNC by Terry McAwful is priceless!

I don't know about that! Think how much a picture of the Pervert and Monica on kneepads in the Oval Office would be worth. Larry Flynt would pay big bucks for that one.

Your comment just guaranteed that I will be calling the RNC tomorrow to see how to get these pictures. I want to win the war, I do not want Hillary, and despite the farm bill (one of which Ronald Reagan also signed) I think he is doing a great job. Thanks for prodding me!
To: RobFromGa
McAuliffe is really stretching here. Bet he's ticked because there aren't any heroic, inspiring pictures of Bubba, except for the one where he shakes his finger at us. Let's see Terry try to raise money with that one.

MM, When you find out how, please post how to donate and receive the photo set. I want to get them as well. There is no mention on rnc.org site, I checked an hour ago.

Let's see Terry try to raise money with that one. See my post #11 above, straight from the DNC website.

You should send a photocopy of your receipt for the purchase to Terry McAuliffe with a thank you note for letting you know about the availability of the photo set.

Wouldn't it be great if there had been security cameras in Bill's secretary's "sink area", and to have images of the leader of the Free World tossing off into same? Where the hell is Larry Flynt when we need him???

..possibly illigal What in the hell does that mean???

possibly illegal...What in the hell does that mean??? Here is what the Retarded Party spokesmen say:
DNC spokesman Jen Palmieri accused Republicans of violating the Hatch Act, which prohibits the use of taxpayer-funded facilities and property for political gain.
Make sense now? Do you see it now??

That is really great photography.
I'm really getting tired of the high piched whine of the DNC. They have been stripped of their issues mostly because they use them as a flag. Their last president was a flop. Their last presidentual candidate was a flop. They will loose ground in the Senate and House this year. Is it any wonder when the only issue they can push is a picture Bush doing his job? This has 'backfire' written all over it. The Democrats are disigning ther own demise.

This from CNN's Website (ca. 1999). Could McAuliffe be more of a HYPOCRITE?
Democratic fundraiser does double duty on Gore and Clinton campaigns
By Beth Fouhy/CNN
September 6, 1999
Web posted at: 1:37 p.m. EDT (1737 GMT)
WASHINGTON -- Democratic fund-raiser Terry McAuliffe is back in the spotlight, raising $150,000 last Thursday in his home town of Syracuse for Hillary Rodham Clinton's likely New York Senate campaign. He's also raising funds for Vice President Al Gore's presidential run. And he just put up $1.3 million of his own money so President Bill Clinton and first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton can buy their new home in Chappaqua, New York.
 |
| Terry McAuliffe raised $150,000 last Thursday for the first lady's likely Senate bid |
|
Gore has called McAuliffe "the greatest fund-raiser in the history of the universe," and his resume matches the hype. McAuliffe got into politics 20 years ago, during the 1980 presidential campaign, just as both parties were learning how to exploit the soft money loophole in the post-Watergate campaign finance reforms.
In 1986, McAuliffe was chief fund-raiser for then-Rep. Tony Coehlo's Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Two years later, he ran the fund-raising operation for House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt's failed presidential bid. Then in the 1990s, he raised vast amounts of money for the party and for both Clinton-Gore campaigns -- $50 million in 1996 alone.
 |
| Financial aid from McAuliffe is helping the Clintons buy this New York home |
|
His techniques are legendary. McAuliffe once wrestled a 280-pound alligator to collect $15,000 from Florida's Seminole Indian tribe.
But he also played a role in the biggest money-raising controversies of the decade. Rewarding 1996 campaign donors with a night in the Lincoln Bedroom was his idea, as were the White House coffee klatches with the president. McAuliffe's been investigated and cleared for an alleged money swap with the AFL-CIO and for a deal involving a failed casino.
Stung by the hostile investigations, McAuliffe went underground, making news just once by raising money for Clinton's legal defense fund to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit.
 |
| McAuliffe was in charge of fundraising for Rep. Dick Gephardt's failed 1988 presidential bid |
|
Now he's back, working with his old friend and former Deputy White House Chief of Staff Harold Ickes on the first lady's likely Senate bid, and his old mentor Tony Coehlo on Al Gore's presidential run.
A lot of Democrats owe McAuliffe, but none more than the president. Besides the two campaigns, the Paula Jones settlement and the Clintons' new home, McAuliffe is also trying to raise $100 million for the Clinton library and $15 million for the White House's millennium bash on New Year's Eve.
