Calling Peggy Lipton.
Sounds like a great idea for an ABC action-comedy-drama to replace World News Tonight!
Me too. My first thought when I wake up is, "I wonder if ole bin Laden's freezing his a@@ off right now." My second is, "I wonder if a bomb will crush his dialysis machine today." My third is, "I wonder if he has gang green yet." There you have it. I'm preoccupied with bin Laden, too.
Shipman only reads from "Que" cards supplied by her 20 year old college dropout producer. A thinker Shipman isn't.
PLEASE SUPPORT CCRM!!!!
Of course they're correct; however, I'd say take their estimate, & divide by 2.
Methinks that'll be a lot closer to the actual truth.
{wanna make a bet?}
Sponsors, unbeknownst to us, might not be so *eager* [anymore] to piss-off so very many people every time said people turn on their television sets.
Not anymore, & certainly not when all it is they're really trying to accomplish is to merely advertise their product(s) -- and do so in the best light possible, to an audience of potential customers during a time when they're supposed to be simply recievinging their news of the nation??
The truth of that whole paradigm makes no sense whatsoever to an advertiser's best interests.
Yet that, my friend, is precisely what has & is happening -- no?
We shall see...
One way or the other, we shall see.
In the meantime?
Like a vulture waiting for that last gasp of air from its next meal?
I wait.
I'm not going anywhere.
They replaced Walter Cronkite, and David Brinkley when they were in their early 50's. They have kept these old timers around as the ratings have fallen.
The less than 6.0 rating of Rather is pathetic. Each one of the three majors had a larger audiece 20 years ago than all three of them combined do today. At the rate it is falling they will have less audience than the test pattern in 5 years.
When they turn them off NO ONE will notice, because no one will be watching.
When the ratings fall just a bit lower, the local stations will put on other programming in the slot and just carry the spots from the newscasts. The networks used to pay the local stations a lot of money. They were in the drivers seat. Now they pay the local stations very little and make them carry their programs. The Networks are not nearly as strong as they once were.
The local stations will tell the networks to take them off or else. They will take them off.
LOL!!!!
A good guess is that they are pushing Sen. Daschle's theory PROPAGANDA that failure to kill or capture bin Laden means failure in the war on terrorism, thus a failure for President Bush
Amongst other things I suspect. But, what more can one expect from a movie STAR? Did anyone catch this "docudrama"? I'm afraid I missed it ; )

Would that I had your optimism Lan. Granted, they appear to be in their death throes, but I will never trust 'em to do what they should do.......DIE!!!
These propagandists seem to have more lives than a cat. Mark my words, they will figure out a way to continue to spew their socialist venom on their intended victims. They have too much at stake to simply pull up their britches and go home.
But, I hope you're right, and I'm wrong ; )
