I think you might have missed the sarcasm in my first post.;-)

I am all for drilling and know the area they want to drill is a wasteland.

One part of this picture I don't have is when some of the anti-drillers say thet the rest of the North Slope is open for drilling. Do you know any of the history as to why the spot that has the oil was the spot to be protected? Did they know the oil was there when it was made a refuge?

Thanks. Is this the same reasoning used to prevent the economic stimulus bill from coming to the floor for a vote?

Just curious.

We knew there was oil 2 decades ago, oil companies were drooling at the opportunity to drill. It began dcades ago was enhanced by Carter and the drilling was prohibited by a Clinton veto.

The Rats care although for different reasons. They want to either make the resolve an issue for elections, something they can solve, or a means to government control.

The article is probably right. The fix is in. As long as Daschle controls the Senate, nothing constructive will be accomplished. He will use any corrupt measures necessary to block useful legislation. Then he will try to blame Bush for any economic and security problems that result.

That makes it vital to elect more Republicans to congress, especially to the Senate, this fall.
