Yes, that's what ESPN is reporting -- NYU says O'Leary never earned a master's in education degree there.

I think it will be Willingham from Stanford.

Just what we need, another LOSER! His record at Stanford is about the same as Davie's at ND.

Thanks for the link. I'd read about the incident with the player during practice on ESPN.com a couple of days ago, and in my thinking, that is probably the main reason Notre Dame said sayonara, the resume just sealed it. June Jones coaching the Ramblin' Wreck? He definitely knows offense. Just ask BYU.

I think Tom Coughlin the Jacksonville Jaguars HC would be an excellent choice for Notre Dame.

Good, hopefully this means they try to get Gruden again, and maybe, just possibly, Al Davis will come and take Dennis Green off our hands.

HELL NO! They can't have him, and we don't want Green.

Tommy

This is a stinking mess. All White or Fr. Malloy had to do was slide O'Leary's resume' across the table and ask him if there was anything there that would embarrass him or Notre Dame if it was inaccurate. I blame White and Fr. Malloy, they did not do their jobs. Malloy has had a lot of things happen under his watch and some are very disquieting.

Other than this crappy news, I had just a lovely day....

You?

People that put false info on their CV's or resume's are activating the ticker on a time bomb. You just never know when you are going to get caught and it blows up in your face.

And you never know how much public embarrassment you can spare your alma mater by asking a few simple questions during an interview too.

Everybody lies about this kind of stuff. Let's just move on and let O'Leary get back to the business he was hired to do.

His actions are reprehensible but not impeachable.

"It sounds like at some point somebody in our (sports information) business put that in there and it wasn't right. Who knows why?" John Heisler, Notre Dame's associate athletic director, said Thursday. "There was no intent to deceive anyone here. Somewhere along the line someone made a mistake."

Though O'Leary has said he was not sure how the information got into his biography, a document obtained by The Union Leader of Manchester indicates he listed the information when hired as a coach at Syracuse University in 1980.

Two liars covering their asses!

My comment was a parody of the Clinton era apologists. If O'Liar should be removed from ND (and he should) how much more should the Liar in Chief have been removed from the WH!

At least O'Leary had the dignity to leave immediately rather than exercising endless appeals and legal manuevers dragging ND through endless indignity.

This is going to be good news to Regis. He didn't want the guy to begin with.

Maybe Regis Philbin himself should be considered for the next Notre Dame football Head Coach? ;-)

I smell a rat. Someone has had this info for a long time.

I am sure that one of the school alumni, or a cometetitor for the position released the info.

On the other hand, he won't be lying if his new resume says he went undefeated as Notre Dame head coach.
