Interesting attitude from the man who wrote about "tin soldiers and Nixon coming...four dead in Ohio..."

Parker, dressed in a garish stars-and-stripes suit, had his own surprise. He declared that he and Stone were proud Republicans. ``It's true,'' he added, apparently earnestly, as the audience wondered if the wacky comic was just joking.
South Park co-creator is a Libertarian (Trey Parker) While it's possible he could have switched, I think ol' Trey just likes the shock value of tweaking these clowns.

Sheesh. Neil Young? Everytime I hear his voice I feel the urge to reach for the fly swatter.

That's funny. I read your post and knew exactly who you were speaking of because I saw the show last night. Alice Cooper for some reason just fitted right in on that post. I'm getting old too.

Despite detecting some minor political offenses in his lyrics, I have always really dug Neil's music. Some of his acoustic stuff is really fun to play. On that note, one of my favorite concert experiences was seeing him at the Dean Dome in Chapel Hill about ten years ago. The best part was that this Chapel Hill/Carrboro old timer hippy crowd showed up expecting him to do a nice quite sit-down acoustic show. Man, were they disappointed!!!

I also liked Hey, hey bye bye.
What a coincidence. That song is playing on my radio right now (KFOG 104.5 FM)
Hey hey, my my, rock and roll will never die

Disappointing that Young would appear and accept an award from this group, who despite their name, is quite dedicated to the tearing down of the traditional values of America.

Aren't the south park guys the ones who gave us "That's my Bush" or whatever that 2 week series on comedy central was called. Hard to believe the authors of that pos are republicans.

"Did anyone see the Alice Cooper (KISS) interview last night? He wanted to kill the families too!"I believe you refer to the Gene Simmons interview on O'Reilly?

If you listen closely to the song you are speaking of, there are no slurs against anyone, only a plea for understanding and redemption according to the tenets of the Christian faith.

I've always had a great deal of admiration for Neil Young, given that he raised two children with CP (of two different mothers). His song-writing talent is beyond compare and I'm delighted to hear he's also a patriot. (Was a little worried after the 9/11 concert, when he sang Lennon's "Imagine.")

``Never let America forget that these are our rights and we can get them back,'' said YoungYeah, that's what the South thought, too.

Keith, He was 20 when he wrote that lyric, and who can reasonably complain that his sentiment was in error?
