There is a chasm between our cultures. Any of our words may give offense. While I agree that "crusade" has centuries of laden meaning from the Middle Ages, I think that we need not mince words whenever an objection arises.
Our rich vocabluary should be mined to inspire as it was in the country's formation. "Give me liberty or give me death," "sunshine patriots," etc. were words that stirred and fortified hearts when some were undecided and when soldiers were hungry, unpaid and with bleeding feet. Such expression does more to support the ideas of liberty and freedom and any tirade of obscenities or hate mongering.
Infinite Justice, IMHO, simply means that those who perform cowardly deeds cannot hide from Justice and the US is one of the many arms of Justice.

Is this George Bush's administration? This seems like something the Clinton Administration would jump on right away - but not a Bush Administration. What is wrong with these guys?

Read my reply 20 -- this name had not been approved and was on a list of names -- there a quite a few names BTW. Someone leaked to the press -- want to take any bets that this name was leaked by someone not exactly friendly to this Administration!

Anyone who truly believes the USA can be a dispenser of "infinite justice" does not know what the word "infinite" means. We're asking for a heap of trouble from Above if we think we have that capacity, whether as a single nation or as a coalition of nations. "Infinite justice" my ass. As witnessed by nearly thirty years of open season on unborn children in the USA, we can't even instill the proper amount of "temporary justice" into our own people.

Maybe they'd like "Operation Ragtime" better?

If Bush officials are already beating a retreat over what to
call this operation, what are they going to do when our enemies and Muslim alleged allies start complaining about how we are
waging it?
We are rapidly falling from a state of power and respect to a position of feckless equivocation and derision.
This is insane.

I opt for OPERATION CAMEL BUTT
