Just a few odds and ends on  Burns Security? I wonder if Stormin' Norman knows that his company is hiring minimum wage "security" at the airports he flies out of so the profit is made for the "corporation"?------------

On April 20, 1999, the Company held its annual meeting of stockholders. At such meeting, John A. Edwardson, Robert A. McCabe, Alexis P. Michas and Donald C. Trauscht were elected as directors to serve for a term expiring in 2002. Each of J. Joe Adorjan, James J. Burke, Jr., Albert J. Fitzgibbons, III, Arthur F. Golden, Dale W. Lang, Andrew McNally IV and H. Norman Schwarzkopf continued to serve as directors following the meeting.

SIGNIFICANT EVENTS ------------------ On April 25, 2000, the Company announced its background screening services company, Burns International Information Services, had changed its name to Burns International SafeToHire.com, Inc. The name was changed to more accurately reflect the technological advancements in its business, which offers web-based pre-employment screening solutions to its 1,700 clients. On April 19, 2000, the Company announced that S. Jay Stewart was elected to the Board of Directors. On March 21, 2000, the Company named James F. McNulty III Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Mr. McNulty continues as President of the Company's Total Security Solutions group, with responsibility for the National Accounts program and the Company's strategic business alliances.

Included in other net expense is the Company's share of Loomis, Fargo net earnings. The Company recorded $0.5 million equity income for the three months ended March 31, 2000 for its share of Loomis, Fargo income

The Business specialises in providing aviation security and commercial guarding services in the US and aviation security services in Europe. The Business provides specialist security services including passenger profiling, baggage screening, checkpoint security and cargo scanning. Some 80% of the turnover is generated in the US. Approximately 90% of revenues are underpinned by long-term relationships with a loyal customer base.

The Business employs approximately 20,000 people of whom 4,000 are based in Europe. In aviation security the Business, trading as Argenbright Security, has an estimated 40% market share in the US, serving major air carriers in 17 of the 20 largest US airports. In the UK, France and Germany, the Business provides aviation security and related services in many of the largest airports including Heathrow and Gatwick, under the ADI name.
