Ukraine needs to be kicked to the curb.

I bet you would have said the same thing about Poland in 1939.

Ukraine has been told that since 2008:

At the "Bucharest Summit Declaration" issued April 3, 2008, it was officially announced that: "NATO welcomes Ukraine's and Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations for membership in NATO. We agreed today that these countries will become members of NATO. Both nations have made valuable contributions to Alliance operations. We welcome the democratic reforms in Ukraine and Georgia and look forward to free and fair parliamentary elections in Georgia in May. MAP is the next step for Ukraine and Georgia on their direct way to membership. Today we make clear that we support these countries' applications for MAP. Therefore we will now begin a period of intensive engagement with both at a high political level to address the questions still outstanding pertaining to their MAP applications. We have asked Foreign Ministers to make a first assessment of progress at their December 2008 meeting. Foreign Ministers have the authority to decide on the MAP applications of Ukraine and Georgia."

It's been 16 years! What's the hold-up? Meanwhile Sweden is fast-tracked into NATO while Ukraine still stands out in the cold.

Anything would have been better, including letting Putin have some narrow concessions in terms of land.

“Anything would have been better, including letting Putin have some narrow concessions in terms of land.”

The thing was that the Neocons were ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that the ‘sanctions’ and related economic punishment would lead to a HUGE UPRISING in Russia and throw Putin out on the street, so no need for a war. But if there were a war, Putin wouldn’t stand a chance against our Western ‘wonder-weapons’

...didn’t quite work out that way, though.

Hopefully this IDIOCY based on pure ARROGANCE drives the Neocon bunch and all associated LEFTISTS out of power in DC, and FOR GOOD.

Ukraine will cease to exist before Russia allows it to join NATO.

Like an insane husband who murders his wife because she asked for a divorce.

Unless Ukraine comes up with

- 10,000 155mm artillery shells per day

- 100’s of barrage balloons per week

- 1,000 anti-drone systems per oblast

- 400 armored medical vehicles per month

- 400 armored assault vehicles per month

- 400 pickup trucks per month

- an anti-air shoulder-launched missile for ever 2 Ukrainian troopers

- 100,000 well-trained fresh troops available for these next 3 months (Apr May Jun)

- and more stuff (like money NOT from the U.S.A.) (and pulling 100,000 troops from the line because they are exhausted)

. . . the Russians will very likely force and finally exploit some hole in the Ukraine ground game.

Not, “just sayin.’”

. . . and then, with Russia breaking through, Ukraine may collapse to a point where only a few of the western oblasts remain.

There, at that point, those oblasts will probably be taken into the “care” of NATO.

It’s as if Blinken wants a nuclear war.

......including letting Putin have some narrow concessions in terms of land.

Moscow would not stop there. Moscow has always viewed Ukraine is it's "property", even going back to the times of the Tsars. The book Children of Rus' would teach you this if you'd take time to read it. In fact Moscow believes that all of the nations the Tsars had subjugated are its' "property". That none of them should be independent of Moscow's direct control. Which is why they begged to be admitted to NATO when by a stroke of luck they were freed by the collapse of the USSR. Even countries like Sweden and Finland now realize that collective defense is their only refuge from Moscow's hunger for power.

At least read this precis of Aleksandr Dugin's opus:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundations_of_Geopolitics

What's happening in Ukraine is not some local dispute. It is a step along Moscow's path to "destruction of the American Empire" and Russian world hegemony, as Dugin so pithily puts it.

Moscow might not have wanted to stop there, but allowing it to meet its publically stated aims, to avoid a war, would have given the West permission to go all out on war, without pretention, if Moscow tried to exceed it’s publican position of wanting to repatriate Russian speaking ethnics to protect them.

Instead, not talking to Russia has resulted in Ukranian genocide and we might still have third world war anyway.

When the peace is finalized re-drawn Ukraine will be classified a “neutral” country; which they should have been since 1990 when the USSR was dissolved.

RFK, Jr. has a lengthy but accurate history that sets the record right. Russia is not the only bad guy in the European debacle.

Europe won’t even risk paying their full NATO dues but will expect US to tote the load as usual.
.
Ukraine in NATO, USA out!
