>>>It’s doubtful he can even tell you what an electron is.<<<

Two hydrogen atoms walked into a bar.

First atom says, “I’ve lost and electron!”

Second atom asks, “Are you sure?”

First atom replies, “I’m positive!”...................

With hours long charging times and limited range EVs are the epitome of landline vehicles.

Bootibuddy’s sex life appears to be affecting his brain cells. Adoring electric cars is like a male breastfeeding babies.

Is it the new rule within this administration that before one of PINO Drooling Spoon’s hacks tell a lie, that they must first say “Let me be clear...”?

Land lines still work if the power is out.

Beware that what you think of as a land line might not be one ...

If your "land line" is carried through cable or fiber, it's not a land line and it goes down when the power goes down.

The thing is , they didnt force landlines on folks well before the technology and infrastructure were advanced enough to make it worthwhile.

Petey B has accepted the lower quality cell transmission as acceptable- my landline is far superior and i don’t have to worry about battery issues. it is my 2nd line. his standards are substandard - a guy bred in mediocrity and not aiming for top performance. and trumpeting same. bless his li’l heart.

I was most impressed when the Secretary of Transportation tried to use the telephone system as a comparison. Consider the more than one hundred years of the history of the telephone: it started with dry cells and hand-cranked magnetos running over a single wire, with the return path through ground. Noisy, lossy, short-distance. Early switchboards were in the parlours of widows. Shifts in technology improved sound quality, and more importantly the range, until calls coast-to-coast became practical, with cross-ocean calls gaining ground shortly after.

Some of the first automobiles were electric. "History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes." The early horseless carriages were pathetic by today's standard, both in range and in performance -- the electric car falling far short. The ICE version was an improvement, and further refinements continues to increase the utility of ICE-powered vehicles. (The racing circuit helped propel these advances.)

I will grant you that battery-powered cars have come a long way from the early electrics. But. The advances center around finding a lighter, safer energy storage device, which has been slow to come.

Let's give it up for the huge thumb of government on the scales in favor of battery-powered cars.

Remember the old joke? "I drove coast to coast in an electric care. It cost $5 for the electricity, and $3995 for the extension cord."

To the contrary, I understand that he was instrumental in getting bicycle paths built in South Bend, Indiana when he was mayor.

Some of the old technology still works well, and time has proven its reliability. The only reasons to replace old technology is 1) the new technology does the same job for LESS money; or 2) the new technology remains compatible with the older technology, but delivers faster and more satisfying service.

Battery-powered EVs are neither. Expensive to build, and not nearly as reliable, with uncertain supply chains in terms of upkeep and operating costs.

An EV is like an iPhone that takes ten hours to recharge and can only be plugged in outside your home at a dozen locations within 250 miles.

And WHY is Ford backing away from EVs?

Replace every gas powered vehicle with an EV and we crash the US electrical grid.

Does anybody challenge this poofer?

Why should I buy cars that aren’t useable for much my type of driving, more expensive to own and insure and pollute more than my ICE vehicles?
