The US withdrew from Vietnam in 1973, with a commitment to continue funding South Vietnam. In 1975 the Senate Ted Kennedy blocked aid to the south allowing the North to take over. The South held out for two years without direct US military action. While the US was in combat, North Vietnam could not advance or take ground in the South. Why the US lost Vietnam was more over politics than military ability.
Prior to invading Ukraine all the experts thought Russia military would drive through like the AFU wasn't there. What the war has revealed is flaws in the Russian military far greater than any the US or NATO ever had. From barely trained soldiers freezing in fields to the generals and politicians embezzling as much as they can, The Russian military is a fraction of what it was during the Cold War.
Russia has three times Ukraine's population and stocks of left over Soviet weapons. That only goes so far. Russia has taken maybe 100 square miles over the last eighteen months at a huge cost in personnel and equipment. They can't keep that up indefinitely.
You can make all the subject changes you want, but the fact remains that your comment about Russia not winning this was by now was absolutely ridiculous.
The USA/superpower is even today involved in conflicts going back several years we have yet to win in even third world countries like Yemen, Niger and Somalia.
