Breaking news -- this guy is a leftist -- I know that wil come as a shock to the readers on this forum.
But, more to the point, why does the worlds' greatest university need a council on academic freedom? It's because academic freedom is dead at the world's greatest university, suggesting perhaps that, well, you can draw your own conclusions.
Consider? Anyone running even a small plumbing parts store could tell you that keeping your business completely separate from politics is the only reasonable policy. Make a political statement and you will piss off half of your customers. Business is hard enough without handicapping yourself with your own stupidity.
TOO LATE! They lowered their standards to be inclusive and opened the floodgates to radical activists who now dictate institutional policy.
Harvard is guilty of numerous civil rights violations by favoring certain races over others. Fine them the total amount of their endowments and order the university PERMANENTLY closed for its ongoing institutional racism. Distribute the endowments funds FIRST to all the students holding student loans they incurred for the worthless degrees they were handed from Harvard.
Let the overpaid faculty go into the job market and compete with the illegal migrant workers they encouraged to trespass into the USA. There are plenty of pizzas to be delivered by terminated Harvard faculty.

Imagine if Harvard were neutral on BLM, George Floyd, Officer Chauvin, Antifa, DIE, "whiteness" or Ann Coulter speaking on campus.
Neutrality, true absolute political neutrality, would be a great improvement.
NYC legal maneuvers have given Trump ammunition to use against colleges. Trump should be able to take their entire endowment worth billions as damages, and even prejudge as done in NYC.
One way to fix ever college in America. Cut Government backed loans and sue their endowments for instutionalized discrimination.

The Harvard endowment should be seized and distributed to poor white people—as reparations for decades of discrimination against them by the university.
