Like many parts of the world, Muslims in Russia are having babies while non-Muslims are not. Thus Russia’s Muslim population is growing at 0.6% annually, while the non-Muslim population is shrinking. On top of war casualties, hundreds of thousands fleeing to avoid being sent to fight in Ukraine, they have the highest abortion rate in the civilized world.

Agree, SAME PROBLEM as in the West. You ‘liberate’ women, they get ‘options’, and FAR TOO MANY decide that kids are an afterthought, if even that.
If we’re going to allow women to be paid to work, then we need to also pay them to have babies (and pay enough to make it worth their while), or the race will quickly DIE OUT.
Hard to pay big bucks when the Rubel is only worth one cent. It used to be worth about 2.5 cents, almost as much as the Ukrainian Hryvania, or the Israeli ten agarot piece, but then the war and sanctions happened. He wouldn’t need more babies if he hadn’t sent so many men off to die, and so many others fled to avoid that fate.
The more accurate word is “ethnic”, defending the sovereignty of Russia, the Russian Orthodox Catholic Church, Russian traditions, and the Russian people, against particularly foreign encroachment and threats.

WW1 decimated Europe. Christians killed each other in great numbers over relatively minor things. But of course each side could tell you how right they were. Meanwhile, an entire generation was torn apart and ruined.
We are seeing the exact same thing in the Ukraine-Russia conflict, only in miniature. Craziness.
