BREAKING: National Ms Society just released a statement backtracking on the entire story saying they were WRONG and APOLOGIZE to the 90-year-old volunteer who they forced to step down over pronouns.

“We realize now that we made a mistake.” “As an organization, we fell short.” “We did not have clear protocols in place.” “We apologized to Fran directly.”

Better late than never but this never should’ve happened to begin with! They put an old woman under unnecessary stress.

(still have pronouns policy tho)

<< “We realize now that we made a mistake.” >>

Backlashes that threaten future donations will elicit such responses. Their mistake was in misjudging the possible consequences of their actions — they thought they could get away with it. That was the only lesson they learned. They undoubtedly still believe what they did was not morally wrong.
