When I lived in NC, the city passed a rule that x% of construction jobs had to go to minorities. A minority firm put in a bid for a sidewalk job and got it. They got 1/3 of the way done and quit saying they were out of money. The city had to eat it. The major construction outfits put their wives as the “head” of the firm. A guy I knew tried it and they denied him. He went to the newspaper with the goods on the big firms and was told “They buy a lot of ads and so do their law firms”. I told him that if he wanted justice, he should buy a comic book.
Ironically, the city council member who sponsored the rule thought it only applied to race. When he tried to change it, suddenly none of his allies were interested. All they did was squeeze out the little guys.

And now it’s not even about squeezing out the little guys. It’s about replacing the little guys with illegals that won’t ask questions, won’t demand fair elections (they’re used to stolen elections) and will never ever question “Big Government”. They “think”. Leftists are always wrong about everything except for one idea. That given enough time and enough stupid voters, they can and will eventually take over.
That’s what we are seeing now. Short of an all-out “real” insurrection (I call it a correction)... nothing will stop them from fulfilling their evil agenda. They’re already almost there.

You did read the article where it states that the CITY is banned from issuing permits. Its one thing to grease the palm of the permit office when they can issue them, its another when the office itself is banned from issuing them.

The “city” is run by people, however. People that accept bribes to make or allow certain rulings to be enforced... from other people that accept bribes and have agendas to fulfill. Hence, the ‘grease the palm’ reference. It’s the ssdd corruption. Prove me wrong.
Sounds to me like they’ll make all the housing wicked affordable in pretty short order.
I used to live near the BH Hillbillies mansion. It’s actually located in Bel Air, not Beverly Hills.

Huntington Beach has been ordered to build 10s of thousands of apartments - with a certain percentage designated ‘affordable’ - the city council claims the city is built out and there is nowhere to put such a large amount of units.
I tend to agree from what I’ve seen - they also do not want the residential balance of their city upset - that and traffic is already horrible in that are.
They are suing the state in court - both state AG Bonta and Newsom have arrogantly stated: “see you in court, you won’t win.”
For my brief visit I had to occasionally drive up the Pacific Coast highway towards LAX. Lots of wasted time sitting in traffic. That said, traffic controllers did a great job with what they had to work with..
This will get fixed and noone will suffer any consequences for fixing it.
