In order to win anything, you need to win around 50% of the votes. What good it is to get 30% of all pure and dedicated voters, if 70% of the vote will (reluctantly) vote against you?
Dems has the same problem with Sanders people, but they seem to have better control over their left wing. All that gave us Sleepy Joe and probably will help him win again!

She might, out of discretion, or a desire to avoid engaging in hurtful detraction (sometimes termed gossip), have kept the information a secret. So, was there an overriding reason for her to reveal the secret? Did that reason arise recently?
Not necessarily finding fault with Lake, just interested in how she came to the decision to ‘spill’ this particular ‘bean’.

I think she always had it in her possession. Since the guy came to her house to have this conversation, I assume she herself recorded it. Could be someone in the DeWitt camp secretly gave her a heads-up that she’d be getting this visitor.
“Why publicize it?” Why the hell WOULDN’T she publicize it? She’d be insane NOT to.
It may be an everyday occurrence if the candidate is in danger of losing. In this case he was obviously afraid she would win.
Secrecy, hush money and veiled threats of murder have no place in a chat between friends on whether a candidate will be a drag on the ticket or not.
I am disappointed to see Kari pull out of Arizona, leaving the corrupt and evil Secretary of State who stole the 2020 elections in charge. The Hobbs-Gobblin even stole the Governorship for herself.
Republicans seem to be disposed to let Democrats get away with whatever they want. Since AZ is still McCain country, they even help.
You keep writing ‘the middle’. Do you truly believe that the current state of American politics is representing ‘the middle’? Is abortion until birth a ‘middle’ position? Is supporting the participation of ‘transitioned’ men in woman’s sports a ‘middle’ position? Is opening the borders to allow rapid demographic shifts while risking the entry of terrorists a ‘middle’ position? I can go on and on and on, as can most of this board.
So, at what point do you push back and stop trying to find ‘middle ground’ when truly there isn’t any? The Bolshevik-left have been moving the goal posts for many decades, and the nation is unrecognizable by a very large number of American citizens currently.
If stating the truth and supporting values that are at the core of what America is at its best is too ‘radical’ for the tastes of the feckless and largely untalented and ignorant political class, what is the point anymore?

Republicans “lost” california because its full of hispanics. So unless you want more immigration and more welfare you’re not going to get those votes.
My thoughts exactly. If Lake is known to be mic’ed up ALL THE TIME, no one will trust her with anything confidential which is important for the job she is running for.
Obviously, what Dewitt did was a bad move and it cost him his job. However, what Lake did could cost her as well.
Don’t think for a second, the Party will be willing to forgo a loss in AZ and distance themselves from her, if they don’t think they can have casual conversations around her that she won’t publicize.
Well, that's the important thing. DeWit is taking a lot of heat right now, essentially for seeming too weak to stand up to these shadowy figures. But without knowing who they are and what powers they are exerting, it's hard to say how much of this incident should be blamed on him.
When you have got panicky Democrats threatening to seize the Texas National Guard for not leaving the border open today, it is clear people at the top of our government are terrified of something we mere citizens are never allowed to see.
