Gas would be replaced by all-electric systems except for the mayor and his friends.
Even if man made climate change existed which it does not unless you believe peeing in the ocean can turn it yellow, what makes this idiot think one city in the entire world is going to change it?

How about upgrades to the electrical distribution system to take on the added load? Replacing transformers? Running bigger wire?
In the event of rolling blackouts, do government buildings lose their power first, and regain power last?

What? Burn natural gas to generate electricity, move down transmission lines, through transformers into your house and use to heat a wire or power a heat pump all the while losing energy in each step? That saves the planet how? Where will all the required electricity come from? Unicorns?
Notice how they never talk to electricians when the “experts” talk about electricity.

I think the plan is to lose population fast enough that the existing electricity supply will be adequate.

They tried this in Berkeley, Kalifornia. The city council passed a similar ordinance. The restaurants and other businesses took it to court, and, amazingly, the court sided with the businesses. Bezerkley will have to find other ways to ruin itself.
At the rate shitcago is going there won’t be any new construction. This handjob is just “aping”...so to speak.. the filth in cacafornia and new jerk.
They are all for it. 220v heat, water and oven means waaaaay more money in wire, conduit and labor.
I think the electricians would talk about cost and how the customers would refuse to pay it and just skip town.
The ones I know are very well aware of the financial constraints their customers face.
