I guess ALL those temperature measurements recorded from instruments that 20 years ago were in open fields that are now in concrete heat islands has ABSOUTLY ZERO BEARING on the “higher” readings?
Not so warm here today in central Kansas. Low tonight -11 with a -35 wind chill.
Here today in central Kansas it’s 13 degrees. Two days from now a low of -12. Not so warm here.
2023 was average where I live. 2019 was hotter for longer. The trend is down.

I have ten-twelve inches of “global warming” on the ground here, and it’s currently -20C.
It was so cold (-33) this morning my car’s dashboard LCD display did not work, at least until it ‘warmed up’ to -21. We are in line for another week of this lovely weather.
The car is *NOT* liking this cold snap. At all.
