If scientists are “on edge” then they are not really scientists, they are propagandists.

But scientists worry that what’s behind those numbers could be even worse.

Why worry?

This is life. Climate. Weather.

Psssttt... you can't do anything to change it. Live your life.

One should get as close to basic science as possible to get at the fundamental truth.

Does any of these scientists have a repeatable test that proves their suspicion? The smug group assurances aren’t really science if the scientific method is shunned.

Anyone know where this so-called heat was?

Cause it certainly wasn’t/isn’t in Alabama.

How do I know. Cause I’ve been living here my entire 62 years.

Who do I believe? You(not “you) or my lying eyes?

I experienced a cold 2023. 2022 summer and winter were noticeably warmer.

“Don’t be so shock-sure. The Government has been tinkering with and weaponizing weather for decades. What do you think all those white streams of crap in the sky are? And do you really trust this government, or any government, to have your best “human” interests in mind with everything they do?”

The oceans are clearly warmer than in 1990. It is not thermodynamically viable for a gas, any gas, in the atmosphere, put there by humans or not, to heat the oceans. The atmosphere simply does not contain enough energy to heat the oceans. Therefore, what is causing the oceans to warm if not the atmosphere?

Warming oceans will increase water vapor and will increase CO2 (which does not matter to climate). The rest is as I stated.

Whether the government is or is not putting something in the atmosphere is not relevant to the oceans and increased water vapor.

There used to be a website where people reported in locations of these temperature sensors. It was incredible where some of these things were stashed.

I used to live in Lakeland Florida which is just a few miles north of Mulberry. There was one of these temperature recorders there. It had been put where it was at a time when everything around it was fields and farmland. Then a lot of building etc. And at the time it then was located in a black asphalt parking lot adjacent to about six air conditioning units servicing some commercial buildings. So these temperatures were recorded and compared to the temperatures of the time it was in the middle of a cow field. And that constituted global warming. And this is indicative of how this stuff is gathered.

The effectiveness of CO2 as a greenhouse gas is about 0.25% of the total gases. As you said, water vapor is the main one (above 90% contribution iirc) - and 99% of the vapor is natural.

Anyway, when I read that years ago I put a dot of white-out on 1/4 of a penny, then put it on the table along with 99 other pennies as an illustration to my children with regard to the hysteria about CO2 and global warming.

Wow!

By NOAA too?

Shows temps getting lower.

How is this missed?

There's been no global temperature increase in the last 8 years.

This story is a LIE!

This pure BS!

"Both NASA and NOAA said the last 10 years, from 2014 to 2023, have been the 10 hottest years they’ve measured. It’s the third time in the last eight years that a global heat record was set. "

The past 2 years in SW Virginia have been cooler, especially summer temps. My first year here I was determined to get a pool because the heat in ‘21 was typically very hot. In ‘22 we got a little Intex pool for cooling off, and in ‘22 and ‘23 it was barely used because the summer temps weren’t quite hot enough.

How has the weather been where y’all are?

Yes.

Prior to 2023, the daily global temperatures were measured at 1.4 meters above grade. Think of the thermometers being suspended 5 feet above the surface of the earth.

Post-2000233, the people in charge of these things quietly changed the rule so the future temperatures would be measured from zero feet above grade; that is, put the thermometer on the dirt and measure the temperature there.

Surprise! Surprise! Climate ?experts? get the bump they had been denied for so long and the fear porn machine can be released.

“Warming may be worsening”

Lets hope so, hey?!?!

Im a couple hundred miles North of you. This is the first nice winter Ive ever seen here. What did they say? Not since ‘36?

“Nice winter”, yknow, that one that they show on TV shows that has deep snow but warm enough to wear just a sweater and tuque. Hot chocolate and smiling people on snowshoes and figure skates and toboggans...

Nope, a relatively pleasant 8 degree day with 30 mile winds slashing your face with ice crystals dropping to a mildly nippy -20 as the sun goes down seems more normal.

Ive always wondered if there really was a place where the weather was like the magical New England winter resorts on the boob tube.

Ill take the warm 30 degree nights with no wind and enough snow for winter fun. For me all that ends this weekend. It was nice to experience it once in my life.

“Wasn’t this because of that volcano eruption and water went into the atmosphere?”

It was and surprisingly NASA even confirmed that. But obviously some dunderheads aren’t going to notice or their hell bent on propaganda.

“The heat over the last calendar year was a dramatic message from Mother Nature,”

Coolest year I can ever remember in the Ozarks. Didn’t have to put on AC until the last week of June. Usually it is on in later April.

I still remember the brutally hot April 12, 1972, Tulsa OK. officially it was 102 degrees but other areas had as high as 106..
And THAT was during THE COMING ICE AGE scares.
