Doesn’t look that bad considering a small House margin and Dem control of the Senate and WH.

We’ll see when the details of the non-defense spending comes out.

Isaiah 41:10. “Fear not for I am with you,”
————-
Amen, or as many say,” the world is falling apart, I say , no, things are falling into place”. Believers will understand.

Why is this framed as a negotiation. Johnson should tell Biteme how much he’s willing to spend, end of conversation.

The gop knows that millions of people will line up and vote for them at elections. They can take their votes for granted and continue growing government. The idea that it matters what party you vote for has long passed by.

The gop loves the don't have fight' mantra. That is always their mantra and will continue being such. The gop stands for nothing, nor do they have to change because of the votes they get.

I don’t want to hear about it until they cut spending by about a trillion dollars.

"Is this for fiscal year 2024 or 25?"

I'm assuming it's for 2024, since it being touted as the means to keep the government from shutting down.

Amen. As I’ve said before, IMHO, God has allowed the current government and the harm it is doing, to get people in a position to want a Trump presidency, but if God doesn’t bring about Trump’s presidency, the rapture is right around the corner. If He does cause it to come to pass, He’s giving people one last chance to turn to him before He comes to get us. 2 Chronicles 7: 13, 14. “If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain , or if I command the locust to devour the land , or if I send pestilence among My people , 14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways , then I will hear from heaven , will forgive their sin and will heal their land”.

“Election year is not the year to have this fight”

Actually it is for many of us who won’t support the GOPe under any questionable circumstances, over-spending and printing money and then throwing that mess on the federal debt. Meanwhile bringing in 10,000 illegals a day and men can breatfeed is just the beginning with money they earmarked for Xiden, ad infinitum.

Oh, dear Lord. It’s looking like those people who raise livestock, grow gardens and go fishing will prevail, while those of us living mostly within the current system, not so much.

Come on, we knew he was going to do this. He is as bad as the rest. The thing about the GOPe is that they have no backbone. They are cowards who do not deserve respect.

This guy was all talk and in the end you get nothing.

.

While these final spending levels will not satisfy everyone, and they do not cut as much spending as many of us would like, this deal does provide us a path to:
1) Give Joe whatever he wants.

I guess there is a third option: take care of people, because most people want to be taken care of.

Dennis Prager was asked a question once about why Republicans always promise fiscal restraint, but then end up going off the rails. His answer was simply that most people want to be taken care of, which I interpret as creating a pressure that most Republicans can’t resist. He said he could not blame the Republicans for caving under those circumstances.

As long as most people aren’t willing to forgo government support, we will see the GOP going along with all this piling on of debt with more government printy money to see dependent constituencies satisfied. That is the idea here.

The alternative (If no agreement reached) is a 1% cut across all depts - I’ll take the 1% cut.

Has he used the power of the purse to close the border and build the wall?

because most people want to be taken care of.

I want people to leave my alone and stop regulating and taxing me into obsscurity.

I simply want to be a producer who creates things of value for the benefit of mankind - and receive just recompense for my labor.
