("Genius Star XI" catches fire.)
"Boss say we no put lithium ion batteries on Genius Star XII."
“Powdered magnesium is the only thing that will extinguish a lithium battery fire.”
Unless the magnesium ignites.

Maybe if the magnesium ignites it takes it to the next level?
It doesn’t say what kind of batteries these are.
Are they car batteries or regular batteries for electronics?
—”Unless the magnesium ignites.”
During my misspent youth, it was considered the height of the evening to toss an air-cooled VW block into the bonfire!
I do not recall any serious injuries.
Where’s the beef?
Everyone has a cell phone and most males carry their phone in a front pocket, right next to the family jewels.
For some fun, take one old cell phone battery cut into the foil pouch, drop it into the water, and stand back.
For the less scientifically inclined pyros, there are many videos online.
“Does halon put out the fire? Maybe boron or graphite?”
Nothing does as there is no way to smother their fires, since the fires have the fuel and oxygen needed right in the battery cells. The only goal with water is to cool down adjacent cells, so the fires don’t spread...but obviously it’s tough to get water to the cells that need it, when an inferno is raging.
Even worse with salt water, as it shorts out every cell that it reaches...so the cooling effect of water doesn’t help with those cases.
No, the burning batteries generate their own oxygen, and are thus self-sustaining.

“Consumers using products with such batteries should watch for signs like high heat or swelling of the product frame...”
I would have been happy if the ex knew enough to pull to the side of the road when she had a flat. This would raise that bar substantially.
That’s an awful lot of CO2 being produced by batteries...designed to reduce CO2.
I’ll try that if I wind up with an extra cellphone battery. I was a pyro when young. 😎
Alabama Firefighters Forced to Close Interstate, Pour 36,000 Gallons of Water Into Burning EV to Put It Out

We had Halon automatic extinguishers in our tanks. Nasty stuff when they go off in the crew compartments. Beats burning to death but can’t imagine the driving public would want to go through that more than once!
Happy New Year!
Unless the magnesium ignites.
That's the plan You CAN put out a magnesium fire.
