Hell, everyone knows global warming first starts with an ice age.
Lies lies and more lies.
Prepare yourselves
Technically we are still in an Ice Age (There have been many Ice Ages!) - the Quatenary. A geologic time period characterized by cyclic continental glaciations. Since the last glaciation thaw 10k-20k years ago we have been in a warming lull with some ups and downs. These things are not mathematically precise but if you look at past patterns we seem to be due for a coming glaciation. Exactly how soon or how fast is impossible to determine. It has nothing to do with what puny man does or doesn’t do. It’s driven by physical processes from the sun and even the galaxy, etc.
In Providence, Rhode Island, the mercury dropped to –23°C (–9°F), well below the previous all-time low of –19°C (–2°F), set in 1918.>>> Using the same thermometer for 100 years might be problematic. Oh, they are using a new one. right next to the old one? no. can you see if they are woking the same? no. hogwash.
so far here, unseasonably warm weather on the colorado front range ...
natural variation in spot temps means little, extreme or no ...
satellite scans of surface temps are a little more useful, but don’t take into account deep ocean temps ... north and south poll ice has been varying a bit, some coastal subsidence here and there from over-pumping ground water, but no actual indication that the oceans are rising ....
i notice that the propaganda has shifted to natural events instead of yammering about model predictions because none of their predictions have come true ... but no real surprise there because it’s absolutely been proven that weather itself can’t be predicted accurately beyond 72 hours because it’s too complex, so predicting climate is a complete fantasy anyway ...
most of us here know that the “red flag climate emergency” nonsense is just another leftist fascist scam ...
Damn! I was so hoping for global warming.
>...weather itself can’t be predicted accurately beyond 72 hours..........
Here, it’s 48!...............
Good article
It has been colder in the 23 years since we moved to the current house. Coldest was -27F. The ice that generated in my F150 fuel pump destroyed it. We haven't gone sub-zero as yet in Fall/Winter 2023.
Climate change is here, have no doubt
Too much rain, too much drought
Run in circles, scream and shout
It’ll cook your brain and freeze your feet
Too much rain, too much heat
Snow coming soon no relief in sight
Tornados and floods you better run for your life
Climate change is here better hide in fear
They need more money or it gets severe
Too much rain too much drought
Run in circles, scream and shout.
Reminds me of the idiocy we hear in California - where Climate Change is all the rage.
We had record droughts - due to Climate Change - so something MUST be done.
Then we had record rains - also due to Climate Change - meaning something MUST be done.
That “something” always involves raising taxes drastically and curtailing freedoms - all for our own good, of course.
Don’t just look at extremes. Last winter/spring, we went about 4 months running approximately 10 degrees below normal highs. But few, if any, days broke records for cold. If we averaged out in four hot months in the summer the experts would have claimed proof of global warming. We didn’t average out, so the experts ignore it.
I find the 10-day forecast to be accurate, in the main.
All it is is noting the high & low pressure patterns dictating the resulting wind speeds & direction and then factoring in the local humidity volumes. Temps vary based on the local condition from whence the wind comes...aka “fronts.”
“coldest wind chill”
“Wind chill” should be banned everywhere. It’s the COMBINED EFFECT of cold temperatures and wind on human skin. It is irrelevant to discussing temperature.
lol- we were bundled pretty good- and had a salamander heater inside the building- so we did get breaks to warm up- but it was still pretty chilly-
It was 60*F in Cleveland for Xmas. Was really hoping for snow.
