It is really very simple. It was not his time and he should have seen that from the start, others did.

And by having the 2024 bid he is seriously most likely to lose, he may have hurt his chances in 2028, at least for POTUS.

Maybe he can run for a U.S. Senate seat, like Rubio’s, in 2028.

I cannot recall a candidate who came in with so much support and completely cratered like Ron.

Doubtful he gets re-elected in FLA and he's proven unfit for the national stage. I think he's done politically.

Kristi Noem proved to be a lot more politically savvy than DeSantis.

The primary issue is that the 81 million voters who were relieved of their Elected president by ballot stuffing and computer vote fraud are still angry and not ready to let it go.

You have a short memory:

It's not too complicated. DeSantos, with help from D.C. insiders and hate Trump segment of the GOP, thought it would be a good idea to go up against the most respected and popular president in modern American history.

In my opinion, they had to be quite arrogant and full of themselves to even consider this.

To put it mildly, he was blown out of the water.

Oh yeah who could forget him. I think Ron had more support than tippy toes going into the primaries.

TBH, I don't think either of them really wanted to be POTUS. Jeb looked comfortable in the primaries and Ron does not have the leadership skills or personality to carry it. Jill DeSantis appears to want it more than Ron.

What wen wrong: He listened to the Bushite Establishment Elite....

... who only want to use him to hurt Trump. They don’t care if they destroy DeSatanis’ political career as long as they have a chance of killing MAGA.

Yup. DeSantis made unguarded comments in years past that suggested his keen appreciation of money and an admiration of wealthy people. I suspect that the billionaires who chose to fund DeSantis recognized that in him, flattered him, and then sent him against Trump with little care or thought to his defects and inexperience as a national candidate.

Your bitterness is not attractive. And if you hope that Biden because it will satisfy your schandfrued, you’ll be supporting evil.

I would say that a lot of how desantis appears to be a good governor, may be because he had the rino florida legislature propping him up

You could say that about any governor who has the legislature on his side.

Look at Virginia and Terry McAuliffe. McAuliffe's problem was that he was full of himself and blurted out the truth that he has low regard for parents, and the state went for Glenn Youngkin.

Look at California and Gavin Newsom. The California legislature will do whatever Newsom wants.

Whitmire and Michigan? Hochul and New York? Abbott and Texas? I could go on.

We WANT an executive and their legislature of the same party with Trump in the White House; why make it a negative with the governor in Florida?

Unless one or the other of them moved, Trump and DeSantis could not be on the same ticket without the VP losing Florida's Electoral College votes and risking a split ticket in the White House.

DeSantis would have been better off finishing his term and then seeking a Cabinet position in Trump's administration in 2026.

He ran for President against Trump.

True. There's no room for anyone else in the race. And I say this as a supporter of DeSantis.

¡Jeb!'s strategy was to suck up all the Big Donor money at the beginning of the campaign season to starve his opponents of cash. It worked, too, except that Trump was self-financed during the primaries.

Bush was such a poor candidate ("low energy") that he eventually dropped out and the money moved to Ted Cruz.

Cruz' strategy was to lay low and run in the middle of the pack, not attacking Trump in the early debates, not making himself a target, and waiting for the herd to thin. This worked, too.
