Who's idea was it to poop in the soup ?
I sometimes have to take off all of the names on a tombstone and reformat leaving room for future names. Some of these “panels” are two foot by four foot. I would no more to this the old way then I’d hit myself in the leg with a hammer. The guys who built the cathedral would think these modern day guys are pure idiots.

Is the church even involved with that cathedral anymore. I recall reading at the time of the fire that it wasn’t.
Last I heard it was going to become some kind of center for something, and that something didn’t have anything to do with God or worship.
Require all entering the property to eat a piece of bacon and denounce Muhammad as prophet before they enter!

She was there in the ‘70s while on a European vacation.

The Church needs rebuilding, not the building. What is a church building where nobody believes but plenty is sold with secular marketing? A walmart.
Just in time to be burned down again by the freshly-imported not-Christians.
Before the fire, the muzzies were threatening to burn down Christian Churches across France. Then came the fire - coincidence?

I believe that's French law there, even before the fire. But muslims can do open worship.

“In 1793, Catholic worship was banned in Paris. Notre-Dame Cathedral was looted and vandalized. The west façade, adorned with statues of 28 Kings of Judea dating back to 1230, were pulled down and decapitated in the square in front of the cathedral by a mob who thought they were French kings.”
Cathedral was used as a wine warehouse after that, and was set to be sold and possibly be demolished until Napoleon I rescued it for his coronation.
So, the cathedral was largely vandalized and only remnants of the original remained, and modernized in the 1800’s. Belongs to the state. Interesting history.
